Langate,Apr,28:A vibrant hiking and trekking expedition was organised today by the Pohru Youth Foundation Langate in collaboration with the Indian Army for students of Handwara sub-district in Langate. The event brought together around 40–50 enthusiastic students from classes 9th to 12th representing various schools across the area.
The participants set out early in the morning towards the historic mountain destination of Divenal, exploring its scenic beauty while engaging in a physically enriching and adventurous journey. The initiative aimed to instill a spirit of adventure, promote physical fitness, and encourage teamwork, discipline, and resilience among the youth.
Conducted under well-coordinated and safe arrangements, the trek provided a unique platform for students to connect with nature, build confidence, and develop a strong sense of camaraderie. The event also reflected a broader shift in the region, where young people are increasingly engaging in constructive and positive activities.
Over the past decade, the improving situation has opened new avenues for youth participation in outdoor and educational pursuits. Where once access to forested and mountainous areas was limited, today such initiatives highlight the growing sense of normalcy and opportunity. The role of the Indian Army in facilitating a secure and supportive environment was acknowledged by organisers and participants alike.
Chairman of the Pohru Youth Foundation and gold medalist, Noorul Shabaz, expressed immense excitement and gratitude for the initiative, calling it an eye-opener and a memorable experience for all involved. He noted that such programmes not only promote adventure but also inspire youth to channel their energy into positive and nation-building activities.
The expedition concluded successfully, leaving participants motivated and enriched, with a renewed appreciation for nature, teamwork, and the peaceful environment that enables such initiatives to thrive.
