Langate Unites Against Drug Menace, Mega Awareness Drive Held

Langate,Apr,22: In a powerful demonstration of unity and determination against the growing drug menace, the District Administration Kupwara inclubration with Handwara Police and Youth Civil Society Kashmir on Wednesday organised a mega awesomeness programme under theme “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life”at Tehsil Headquarter Langate.The event carried a strong public message against substance abuse and reaffirmed the collective resolve to build a healthier, drug-free society.

 

The programme was witnessed many higher officials from civil and police administration including Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Balasaheb Suse (IAS), SSP Handwara Sahil Sarangal (IPS), ADC Handwara Javed Naseem Masoodi (JKAS),Tehsildar Langate Mohammad Ismael,DFO Langate,Superintendent DISTRICT HOSPITAL HANDWARA Dr.Ajaz

, senior police officers including ASP and SDPO Handwara,EO Municipal Committee Langate Rohi Bhat,Deputy Chief Education Officer , District Education Planning Officer Kupwara,besides several officers from different departments. Members of civil society, traders, transport associations, youth groups, social activists and a large number of students from across Langate and Qaziabad also participated enthusiastically in the massive awareness programme.

Raising impactful slogans and carrying vibrant placards, participants also transformed the streets of Langate town into a strong platform of awareness, highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and the urgent need for collective action.

The march commenced from Boys Higher Secondary School Langate to Langate Chowk and passed through major streets and markets of Langate town, drawing public attention and energising the anti-drug campaign at the grassroots level. Participants also took the Nasha Mukt pledge, reaffirming their commitment to stand united against substance abuse at the playground of GBHSC Langate.

The awareness programme culminated at the playground of Government Higher Secondary School Langate, where thousands of people from different walks of life assembled. Speakers, including SSP Handwara,DC KUPWARA,Civil Society Forum Kupwara Chairman Gh Hassan Malik and other dignitaries, stressed that the fight against drugs is not merely an administrative responsibility but a larger social mission requiring vigilance, awareness and sustained public participation.

Moreover Tug of war was conducted between students of medical colleges Handwara and GDC Handwara. 

Trader's federation Langate and Handwara and between students of Langate and qaziabad.

In this colorful event Participants from medical colleges Handwara, trader's federation Langate and students from land were declared as winners. 

On the sidelines of Nisha Mukt campaign painting competition was conducted in which students from private and government schools participated. The beautiful paintings done by students were appreciated by officers.

 

The District Administration Kupwara reiterated its commitment to continue such impactful initiatives and urged parents, educators and community leaders to play an active role in safeguarding the future of the younger generation.
