Langate,Apr,24:In the early hours of Saturday, a devastating fire broke out at approximately 2:00Am. in the residence of Mohd Dilawar Mir, son of Gh Qadir Mir, a labourer by profession and resident of Ward No. 10, Muqdam Mohalla in Langate Town .The blaze caused extensive damage to the house, reducing a significant portion of the structure to ruins.

Acting promptly upon receiving the distress call, personnel of the Indian Army, along with the local police team from Langate Police Post, rushed to the scene without delay. They were soon joined by the Handwara Fire Brigade, and a coordinated firefighting operation was launched.

Using fire extinguishers and a water bowser, the joint teams worked tirelessly to contain the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent houses in the densely populated locality. Their swift and decisive response averted what could have escalated into a major disaster.Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. However, the house suffered severe damage, leaving the affected family in distress.

Local residents lauded the timely intervention of the forces. “The quick action by the Army ensured that nearby homes were saved,” said one eyewitness, expressing gratitude for the prompt response.
