Indian Army Organizes Volleyball Premier League in Langate, Boosts Youth Engagement in North Kashmir

Langate,Mar,26: In a spirited initiative to promote sports culture and identify budding talent, the North Kashmir Volleyball Premier League 2025–26 (Phase I) was successfully organized at Boys High School Hanga, Langate by the Indian Army’s Langate Camp under the aegis of Capt Vishal Bhandral, KC.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing Langate, Chogul, Rafiabad, and Sopore, highlighting the growing interest of youth in volleyball across the region. A total of six teams were selected to compete in Phase I, creating a competitive yet friendly sporting atmosphere.
The initiative aimed to keep the spirit of sports alive while encouraging local youth to engage in constructive activities. It also focused on identifying emerging talent and providing opportunities for players to advance to competitions at the district and state levels.
Matches were conducted in a well-organized and disciplined manner, reflecting both competitiveness and camaraderie. The event saw strong community participation, with locals turning up in large numbers to support the players and cheer for their teams.
Participants showcased impressive skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, leaving a strong impression on organizers and spectators alike. Based on their performances, several promising players have been shortlisted for Phase II of the tournament, scheduled to be held at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora.
The successful of the league marks a significant step toward nurturing volleyball talent in North Kashmir and reinforces the role of sports in promoting youth engagement, discipline, and community bonding.
Locals widely hailed the efforts of the Indian Army in organizing such events, while youth from the area appealed to officials to continue hosting similar sports leagues in the future to provide greater opportunities for local talent.
