Kupwara, Mar 25:A one-day district-level orientation workshop for Field Investigators (FIs) was successfully conducted at DIET Kupwara on Tuesday to facilitate the implementation of the Foundation Learning Study (FLS) 2026 in the district.
The workshop aimed at equipping field investigators with the necessary skills and understanding to carry out the assessment effectively. During the session, participants were trained on various aspects of the survey, followed by detailed discussions and hands-on activities conducted by resource persons to ensure practical understanding.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and the Chief Education Officer distributed tablets among the field investigators to support the digital conduct of the assessment. The event was attended by senior officials including the Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Planning Officer, and the Nodal Officer.
The Foundation Learning Study (FLS) 2026, affiliated with CBSE and conducted by PARAKH, is designed to assess Class 3 students in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN). The initiative seeks to establish baseline data, evaluate learning outcomes, and help achieve universal foundational literacy and numeracy targets by 2026–27.
Officials highlighted that the assessment will be conducted using digital tools, marking a significant step towards technology-driven evaluation in the education sector. In Kupwara district, 32 schools have been selected for the study across 13 educational zones.
The workshop concluded with a strong emphasis on ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in conducting the assessment, marking a crucial step in strengthening foundational education in the district.
