On Eid-e-Milad, Army Holds Medical Camp for Qaziabad Residents

Langate, Aug 29: As part of its continued commitment towards communiry outreach and public welfare, the Indian Army organised a medical camp in the General Area Ananwan, Langate, on Saturday, providing free healthcare services to residents of the remote areas of North Kashmir.

A team comprising Army and civilian doctors, including medical professionals from Government Medical College (GMC), Handwara, attended the camp and provided free medical consultations, basic health screenings, medicines and medical advice to around 650–700 local residents from Ananwan and adjoining areas.

Children, women and elderly persons were among those who availed themselves of the medical facilities at the camp. Special focus was given to seasonal ailments, maternal and child health, hygiene, nutrition and preventive healthcare.

During their interaction with the residents, doctors advised people on the importance of timely medical consultation, safe drinking water, sanitation, proper nutrition and maintaining healthy lifestyle practices.

The camp was organised on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad, adding a message of compassion, service and community welfare to the initiative. Several local influencers and media representatives also joined the event.

Local residents appreciated the initiative, particularly the provision of healthcare services closer to their homes. The camp also provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction between the Army and the local population.

The initiative reaffirmed the Indian Army’s continued efforts under Operation Sadbhavana to address the welfare and healthcare needs of people living in remote areas and to strengthen the bond of trust, cooperation and mutual understanding with the local community.
