Langate, Oct,17: In a significant initiative to promote sports culture and nurture local talent, the Indian Army’s Langate Camp, under Operation Sadbhavana, organised the Qaziabad Volleyball Premier League 2026 at the playground of Boys High School, Hanga, Langate, on Saturday.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing Langate, Chogul, Rafiabad and Sopore, reflecting the growing popularity of volleyball among youth across North Kashmir.
The league aimed to encourage young people to participate in constructive activities, promote physical fitness and discipline, and provide a platform for budding volleyball players to showcase their talent. The initiative also focused on identifying promising players for higher-level competitions at the district and state levels.
The matches were conducted in a disciplined and well-organised atmosphere, with players displaying impressive skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. A large number of local residents attended the event and enthusiastically cheered for the participating teams, adding to the excitement of the tournament.
