Kupwaea,Apr,17:In A remarkable achievement, north Kashmir’s Kupwara district has been selected for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration under the category of ‘Holistic Development of Districts’.
The award, which recognizes outstanding and innovative governance at the grassroots level, is a significant acknowledgment of the progress Kupwara has made across various developmental parameters in recent years.
As per the recommendation letter,the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India, has formally informed Kupwara’s Deputy Commissioner, Ayushi Sudan, about the district’s selection. She has been invited to receive the award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Civil Services Day celebration on April 21, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Instituted in 2006, the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration aim to recognize the exceptional work done by districts and government organizations across the country in promoting good governance, innovation, and inclusive development.
Kupwara’s selection under the ‘Holistic Development’ category reflects its achievements in infrastructure, education, health, livelihood, and welfare initiatives—particularly in transforming outcomes in a traditionally remote and border district.
This national recognition is expected to further motivate the district administration and its stakeholders to continue their efforts toward inclusive, sustainable, and people-centric development.
