DGP J&K Visits Handwara’s Rajwar Region, Interacts With Frontline Forces

Handwara, July 14:In a significant and first-of-its-kind development, the Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Nalin Prabhat (IPS), on Monday visited the remote and hilly Rajwar forest area in Zachaldara, Handwara. This marked the first-ever visit by Police Chief to this inaccessible region of North Kashmir.

The visit was aimed at encouraging and boosting the morale of the Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel deployed in the challenging forested terrains. The DGP’s direct interaction with the frontline personnel was widely welcomed by officers and jawans alike.

During his interaction, the DGP emphasized the importance of mastering modern jungle warfare tactics, especially in areas where prolonged anti-terror operations demand exceptional physical endurance, tactical awareness, and deep familiarity with the local terrain.

He urged the forces to enhance their operational preparedness and maintain high levels of vigilance to deny militants any opportunity to establish footholds in such difficult areas.

The visit was received with enthusiasm by the SOG teams, who appreciated the leadership’s direct engagement and assurance of operational and welfare support.

The move reaffirms the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s commitment to maintaining peace and strengthening anti-terror operations in every corner of the Union Territory, including its most remote and rugged regions.
