Handwara Police Recovers ₹28 Lakh from Cyber Fraudsters, ₹16 Lakh Returned to Victims

Handwara,Jul,12:In a major success against rising incidents of cybercrime,Cyber cell of Handwara Police has recovered a total amount of ₹28 lakh this year that was swindled from unsuspecting citizens through various online scams. Out of the recovered sum, ₹16 lakh has already been returned to the rightful owners, while the remaining ₹12 lakh has been secured and will be disbursed to victims following the completion of legal procedures and requisite court orders.
According to official sources, Cyber Cell Handwara Police had received multiple complaints from residents of Police District Handwara regarding online financial frauds. Taking immediate cognizance of these reports, the Cyber Cell of Handwara Police, under the close supervision of senior officers, launched comprehensive investigations using advanced technical tools.
Prompt intervention by the Cyber Cell enabled authorities to freeze fraudulent transactions in time and recover funds from suspected accounts. The swift action not only prevented further financial losses but also ensured the return of substantial amounts to affected citizens.
This achievement reflects the growing technical proficiency and operational preparedness of Handwara Police in tackling sophisticated cybercrimes. Victims whose funds were restored expressed deep gratitude towards the police for their prompt and decisive action.
