Handwara Police Conducts Searches at Houses of Relatives of Terror Operatives and Members of Banned Organisations

Handwara,Nov,08:In a major counter-terrorism initiative aimed at dismantling the local support network of banned organisations, Handwara Police conducted coordinated search operations at multiple locations across Police District Handwara on Saturday.

According to police officials, the searches were carried out in the houses and premises of relatives and associates of terror operatives currently operating from across the border, as well as individuals suspected of having links with banned organisations. The objective of the exercise was to identify any channels of communication, material assistance, or logistical support being extended to anti-national elements from within the region.

The operations were executed under a well-planned and legally sanctioned framework, ensuring transparency and minimal inconvenience to the general public. During the searches, relevant digital and physical materials were examined, and several individuals were questioned to verify their possible involvement or connections with terror-related activities.

A senior police officer said that such measures are part of a sustained effort to eliminate the ecosystem that enables terrorism. “Our goal is not only to neutralize active militants but also to cut off their local networks of facilitation, funding, and propaganda,” the officer added.

Handwara Police has reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace, public safety, and the rule of law in the district. The department has appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies, remain vigilant, and promptly report any suspicious activity that may pose a threat to communal harmony or national security.

The ongoing operations reflect the resolve of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to ensure that the region remains free from the influence and intimidation of anti-national elements, and that peace and development continue to take root in North Kashmir.
