Sopore, Feb 28: To raise public appreciation of the scientific issues involved and the impact science has on education, skill and work a National Science Day 2022 was celebrated at Nothe rth campus(Research cecentreadoora camps) of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology.
The theme for National Science Day 2022 was "integrated approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future". National Science Day is celebrated to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir, C.V. Raman. The basic objective of observation of National Science Day is to spread the message of the importance of science and its application among the people. Dean, Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth chaired the session and briefed the audience about the importance of science in day to day and gave a brief about various clubs created in faculty for organizing different events and informed students to join at least one club for various activities. Pr of. Mohammad Ashraf Bhat presented words of wisdom. Various heads of the divisions, faculty members and students participated in the event.
Dr Aijaz Ahmad Qureshi, Assistant Students Welfare Officer coordinated the event. Ms . Hannah Naseem Geelani presented voa te of thanks. Mr . Owais Ali Wani briefed the audience regarding the contribution and importance of science in mothe dern World. Mo HD. Salim Mir, President Students Council FoA, Wadura thanked Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-K Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth and ASWO, FOA Dr Aijaz Ahmad Qureshi for providing a platform and organizing such events under the banner of World Bank-foundational Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP), motivating students to take a lead in these events. Mr Zakir Amin and Neelofer Lone were the student facilitators.
