Handwara,Aug,14:In a joint operation, Police, Indian Army(RR), and CRPF apprehended three terrorist associates in the Wajihama area of Qalamabad, Handwara, and recovered arms, ammunition, and incriminating material from their possession.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation which led to the arrest of Mohd Iqbal Pandith (23) of Bunpora Langate, Sajad Ahmad Shah (26) of Check-Puran Langate, and Ishfaq Ahmad Malik (22) of Hajin Kralgund. All three are allegedly linked to handlers based in Pakistan.
Recoveries include a pistol, a pistol magazine, two pistol rounds, 20 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, and 11 anti-national posters.
A case under FIR No. 30/2025 has been registered at Police Station Qalamabad under relevant provisions of the IA Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Officials said further investigation is in progress to trace and arrest other associates of the network. Security forces reiterated their commitment to eliminating terror activities in the PD Handwara.
