Mehbooba Mufti not allowed to visit slain Shopian youth's family, put under house arrest

The People's Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti was on Monday put under house as she was planning to visit the residence of slain youth Shahid Ahmed Rather who was shot dead under suspicious circumstances in south Kashmir's Shopian district.

 

Shahid Ahmad Rather, a resident of the Arwani area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, a labourer, was reportedly killed in forces firing under suspicious circumstances in Shopian.  

 

Sources told local news agency that the PDP chief was scheduled to visit the residence of Shahid today, however, she was not allowed and was put under house arrest. 

 

Notably, Mehbooba Mufti was earlier also not allowed to meet Parvez Ahmed Khan's family, who was allegedly killed in forces firing a few weeks ago.
