J&K lost ‘autonomous’ character with Article 370 abrogation: Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar, Feb 28: National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah Monday said that Jammu and Kashmir lost their ittheirutonomous rights with anthannulmentnt of Special Status. He said the scrapping of Article 370 was an assault on the autonomous character of Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking on the sidelines of a party meeting here, Dr Farooq Abdullah said the white paper recently issued by Pethe people's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) was not only about the Delimitation process that included the illegal scrapping of Article 370 and 35A.

“We have lost our jobs. Earlier, the job in the government department was exclusively the right of natives but outsiders can now apply for jobs in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said adding there is no one to represent the people of Jammu and Kashmir as there is no elected government in place.

“It is a bureaucratic rule here and people have no access to the corridors of power,” he said.

In response to a question, he requested disgruntled party leaders to return to the party fold and be a part of the united fight.
