Fahad Shah arrested hours after court grants bail

 

Srinagar, Feb 26: Police Saturday arrested journalist Fahad Shah in another case after a special court granted interim bail to him in an Unlawful act.

Sources said Fahad Shah was arrested in a case under FIR no 06-2021 registered against him at police station Imam Sahab in the southern Shopian district.

Fahad’s counsel earlier tweeted “The majesty of law has been upheld, the Special Court designated under the NIA act admitted @pzfahad to interim bail. The administration couldn't dominate maliciously while the judiciary rescued him courageously. Thank you for the support from every corner and everyone.”

Fahad, who is editor of a local news magazine and online portal, “The Kashmir Walla”, was arrested by police in FIR No. 19/2022 registered by Pulwama police under 13 Unlawful activities to which interim bail was granted by the special court.

Police had earlier said, “Fahad Shah is wanted in 3 cases for glorifying terrorism, spreading fake news and inciting general public for creating Law and Order Situations: FIR No. 70/2020 of police station Safakadal Srinagar, FIR No. 06/2021 of PS Imamsahib, Shopian and FIR No. 19/2022 of PS Pulwama.”
