SKUAST-K Holds High-Level Review Meet on Krishi Viksit Sankalp Abhiyan-2025

Srinagar,May,24:A high-level review meeting on the implementation of Krishi Viksit Sankalp Abhiyan-2025 was convened today at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Hall, SKUAST-Kashmir, under the chairmanship of Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-K and UT-level Nodal Officer for the campaign.

 

The meeting aimed to apprise stakeholders of the comprehensive roadmap for the successful execution of the 15-day campaign, scheduled from May 29 to June 12, 2025, across Jammu and Kashmir.

 

The session witnessed participation from Shri Ilyas Khateeb, Director Agriculture, Dr. Vikas Anand, Director Horticulture, Dr. M.K. Verma, Director CITH (online), representatives from the Directorate of Agriculture Jammu (online), senior officials from Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Rural Development, district-level officers, faculty members, and Heads of Krishi Vigyan Kendras of SKUAST-Kashmir.

 

Detailed discussions were held on the core objectives, themes, and modalities of the campaign, with emphasis on outreach, convergence, and farmer empowerment initiatives. Prof. Ganai highlighted the Abhiyan as a transformative step towards enhancing agricultural productivity, innovation, and farmer welfare, urging all departments and institutions to work in unison for its success.

 

Key campaign guidelines were reviewed, focusing on 100% saturation of central schemes like PM-KISAN, PMFBY, KCC, and Soil Health Cards, alongside organizing awareness camps, exhibitions, and field demonstrations at the grassroots level. Strengthening institutional linkages and ensuring digital integration for real-time monitoring and feedback were also emphasized.

 

Prof. Ganai appreciated the proactive participation of all stakeholders and directed the formulation of a consolidated joint action plan with defined roles, responsibilities, and timelines. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to serve as a lead knowledge partner, supporting on-ground capacity building and policy implementation.

 

The meeting concluded with a collective pledge towards a Viksit Bharat, reinforcing the spirit of “One Nation, One Agriculture, One Team — Ek Desh, Ek Kheti, Ek Team.”
