DGP visits family of cop killed in encounter

Jammu, Feb 28: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh visited the family of Rohit Chib, who was killed in an encounter in Kulgam's Pariwan area last month while evacuating civilians from the area, and expressed solidarity with the family. The top cop prayed for the jawan who died fighting militants.
While interacting with the family, Dilbag Singh said the entire police force stands with the families of soldiers killed in action and shares their grief and sorrow. He also assured that J&K police force would support the family in every way.
Rohit Chib joined the J&K Police as a constable in 2011 and was promoted for his dedication towards duties in 2017.
Earlier, the top cop also visited another officer, Sumir Kotwal, who was injured in the encounter and recovering at home. Singh spoke with the officer and his family members and expressed his happiness over his recovery.
In the encounter, a militant affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit was gunned down.
