Academy of Art & Culture, Jooaye Adab Kajnag Organise Seminar on Kashmiri Language at GDC Handwara

Handwara, Nov 8:A one-day seminar titled “Challenges and Prospects of the Kashmiri Language in the Contemporary Era” was today held at Government Degree College Handwara. The event was jointly organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Jooaye Adab Kajnag Handwara.

 

The seminar brought together writers, poets, and scholars from across the district, who shared their insights on the importance of preserving and promoting the Kashmiri language in today’s fast-changing world. Speakers highlighted the need for greater literary initiatives, curriculum inclusion, and community-level engagement to ensure the survival and growth of the mother tongue.

 

On the occasion, two books were formally released one authored by Dr. Shah Faisal on the life and works of renowned Kashmiri writer and international scholar Dr.Reyaz Towheedi, and another book "Tawakal"written by Midhat Majeed.

 

The participants appreciated the organisers for holding such a meaningful event that underscores the cultural and linguistic identity of Kashmir. They emphasized that such seminars play a vital role in reviving interest among the youth towards Kashmiri literature and heritage.

 

The event concluded with a note of thanks to the organisers and participants, reaffirming a collective commitment to the promotion and preservation of the Kashmiri language.
