Chinar Tree Poses Danger for students, Residents of Gund Chogal Handwara Appeal to Administration for Action

Handwara,Apr,26: Residents of the Gund Chogal village of district Kupwara  have raised concerns about a Chinar tree that they say has become a potential hazard for the community, especially children who went to the school. The chinar tree is located in the lawn of the school.  According to the locals, the tree’s branches have grown too heavy and unstable, and some of them have already fallen off or cracked, posing a risk of injury or damage to property and school going students.
“We have been noticing the deteriorating condition of this Chinar tree for some time now, but recently it has gotten worse and we fear that it might fall anytime soon,” said,Ab Rashid War Headmaster Govt. Middle  school Gund Chogal. “The children who go to the school are particularly scared, and we don’t want to wait for a tragedy to happen before taking action.”
The residents have appealed to the administration to inspect the tree and take necessary measures to ensure its safety. They have also suggested that the tree may need to be pruned or trimmed to reduce its weight and improve its balance. The issue has been already taken into consideration by the concerned Tehsildar and the patwari ,but still sub-district administration has been a spectator in the same matter. Almost  One year have passed away but no one is taking pains.
“We understand the value of trees and the importance of preserving them, but we cannot ignore the potential danger that this Chinar tree poses to the public,” said local PRI members ”We hope that the administration will act swiftly and responsibly to address this issue before it’s too late.”
