SRINAGAR: Authorities on Friday issued a “low danger” and “medium danger” level avalanche warning in higher reaches of seven districts of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) issued an avalanche warning with “low danger” level that is likely to occur 2500 to 3200 metres above sea level over Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban in Jammu division and Baramulla and Kupwara in north Kashmir districts during the next 24hours.
Avalanche with a “medium danger” level is likely to occur above 2800 metres over central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district during the next 24 hours.
People living in these areas are advised to take precautions and avoid venturing into the avalanche-prone areas till further orders, they added. (UNI)
