Swastha Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan: DC Kupwara inaugurates Healthcare Outreach Programme*

KUPWARA, September 18, 2025 — In continuation of the Sewa Parv celebrations, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse (IAS), today inaugurated a Free Medical and Screening Camp under the “Swastha Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan” at SDH Kupwara. The event was attended by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara Dr Masarat Iqbal Wani, Deputy CMO Kupwara, Medical Superintendent SDH Kupwara, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kupwara, DDC Members and the general public in large numbers.
The camp, dedicated to women, adolescents, and children, provided free consultations, health check-ups, and screening services. Besides medical examinations, awareness sessions were conducted on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive healthcare practices. Specialised services included maternal and child care, screening for non-communicable diseases, and adolescent health counselling.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara stressed the Government’s commitment to delivering accessible, quality healthcare at the grassroots level. He underscored the importance of women’s health as a cornerstone for the well-being of families and communities and urged active public participation to ensure long-term benefits from such initiatives.
CMO Kupwara Dr Masarat Iqbal Wani highlighted that similar health camps are being organised across all blocks of the district as part of the ongoing fortnight-long campaign set to conclude on October 2, 2025. He lauded the dedication of medical teams and assured comprehensive coverage to maximise outreach.
Earlier, simultaneous health camps were conducted at Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the district. Doctors and paramedical staff provided preventive and curative services to a sizeable number of beneficiaries, especially women and adolescents, demonstrating robust community involvement in the campaign.
