QWF Continues Anti-Drug Campaign, Engages Students at Wangam School of Qaziabad

Langate, Jun,17:In A determined effort to combat the escalating challenge of drug addiction, the Qaziabad Welfare Forum (QWF) organized a comprehensive awareness programme on drug de-addiction at Government Upper Primary School, Wangam in Qaziabad, Kupwara. The day-long event aimed to sensitize young students about the perils of substance abuse and encourage collective action against this growing social menace.

The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 60 students, alongside school faculty, senior citizens, members of civil society, volunteers, and the core body of QWF. The event was graced by Mohd Yousaf Bhat, Chairman of Qaziabad Welfare Forum, and the Headmaster of UPS Wangam, who jointly emphasized the critical need for awareness initiatives at the grassroots level.

In his address, Mohd Yousaf Bhat highlighted the increasing vulnerability of youth to addictive substances such as alcohol, brown sugar, chitta, charas, and other harmful drugs. He urged the school management and teaching staff to remain vigilant and actively guide students away from the perils of drug abuse. Stressing the importance of early intervention, he called upon parents, teachers, and civil society members to join hands in safeguarding the future generation.

Other speakers at the event echoed these concerns, emphasizing the role of sustained awareness campaigns and community-driven efforts in curbing the drug menace. They advocated for a united societal response to this issue, underscoring the importance of education, parental care, and community monitoring in creating a drug-free environment.

The Qaziabad Welfare Forum, a non-political organization registered under the Government Society Act of 1860 (Registration No. 7830, dated November 22, 2023), has consistently worked for over a decade to address social issues, with a particular focus on drug de-addiction, youth empowerment, and community welfare in the Qaziabad region.

This latest initiative at UPS Wangam stands as a testament to QWF’s unwavering commitment to promoting health, awareness, and social harmony. The forum’s continuous efforts reaffirm the power of grassroots movements in addressing critical community concerns and fostering a healthier, addiction-free society.
