Indian Army Strengthens Veteran Outreach with ESM Rally at Langate

Langate, Jan 14:The Indian Army organised an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally at Langate Army camp in sub-district Handwara to commemorate Defence Forces Veterans Day. The rally was held to address welfare-related issues of veterans and to strengthen the bond between the Army and its former soldiers.

 

A large number of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, widows and their dependents from various parts of Kashmir participated in the event.The rally provided a single-window facility where veterans could seek solutions to problems related to pensions, medical facilities, resettlement, documentation and other welfare schemes.

 

Representatives from Record Offices, Zila Sainik Welfare Office (ZSWO), ECHS, banks, Social Welfare Department, Skill Development Department, Agriculture Hoticulture,Fisheries and other government departments also installed many stalls regarding services and benefits of different schemes for ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and widows.

 

Many grievances, including pension anomalies, service record corrections and ECHS card issues, were resolved on the spot.

 

Senior Army officers interacted with the veterans and assured them of continued support and care. The participants expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and appreciated the Army’s efforts to promptly address their concerns.

 

The successful conduct of the rally reflected the Indian Army’s continued commitment towards the welfare of its veterans and their families, recognising their invaluable service and sacrifices for the nation.
