Rusted Mortar Shell Recovered in Poonch

SRINAGAR: A rusted mortar shell was found during construction in the Surankote area of Poonch district, officials said.

They said that the shell was found near Gurudwara Surankote  and subsequently army  and Police Surankote rushed to the spot.

The shell was later taken away from residential areas by Army’s BDS and destroyed near Suran river, they added.
A police officer confirmed it to GNS and said that a case has been registered in this regard. (GNS)
