Sukhan Cultural and Welfare Organisation Kashmir-Launch of Three English Books by Peerzada Abdul Rashid

Srinagar, July 27:

A grand, graceful, and memorable literary event was held on Saturday, July 26, at Tagore Hall, Srinagar, under the auspices of Hum Sukhan Cultural and Welfare Organisation, Kashmir. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of renowned writers, poets, intellectuals and social figures from across the Valley.

The focal point of the programme was the official launch of three significant English books by the distinguished, seasoned and stylistic author Peerzada Abdul Rashid. The titles unveiled included :

"Footprints in the Sand",

"In Search of Lost Fingerprints", and

"Footprints on the Snow of Life" all reflective of the author’s deep philosophical insight and rich creative expression in English literature. The programme commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a na’at (a eulogy in praise of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ). Subsequently,the founder and patron of the organisation, Dr.Reyaz Rabbani Kashmiri, delivered the welcome address and presented a comprehensive introduction to the objectives and achievements of Hum Sukhan, highlighting its role in literature, culture, and welfare.

The event was presided over by the eminent academic and literary personality Dr.Abdul Hafeez Masoodi, Special Secretary to the Government of Jammu & Kashmir.Other dignitaries in the praesidium included Mr. Kishore Kumar,Deputy Director, Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, renowned critic and poet Prof. Majrooh Rashid, noted poet Ashraf Adil and acclaimed broadcaster and poetess Dr.Shabnam Ashai.

A critical review of the three launched books was eloquently presented by Dr. Badr-un-Nisa Butt,a young and insightful poetess of the Valley. Following the book release, a captivating mushaira (poetry symposium) was held,featuring both eminent and emerging poets. Through their expressive verses, they addressed contemporary issues, aesthetic values,and cultural identity, winning great appreciation from the audience.

Among the prominent poets who recited their work were Adil Ashraf,Ashraf Baba, Ibn Shehbaz, Ghulam Hassan Mir,Javed Iqbal, Imtiyaz Ahmad,Nida Heer, Shalaan Shafi Aarzu, Faahi Kashmiri,Daman Shah, Shabir Rasheed, Dr.Abdul Hafeez Masoodi,Mohammad Akbar Bhat, Dr. Shabnam Ashai,Dr.Mubarak Lone, Luqman Habib,Dr.Badr un Nisa Butt, Aram Baba,Mir Muzammil Dil-e-Hazeen,Dr. Syed Insha Saifi,Dr.Peerzada Mohammad Shafi,Peer Sehrish Iqbal, Ashfaq Rasheed,Peerzada Shabir Ahmad,Shafi Shadab,Qazi Shamsuddin, Ghulam Hassan Bhat,Basheer Hail,Ashraf Adil,Dr. Nikhhat Nazar, Mohammad Sabir Nowshehri,Dr.Reyaz Rabbani Kashmiri and many others who enthralled the gathering with their powerful and refined poetry.

On this occasion Dr. Reyaz Rabbani Kashmiri presented Certificates of Appreciation to all participating poets cum writers in the presence of the presidium,lauding their literary contributions and encouraging their creative pursuits.He emphasized that such events are instrumental in guiding, nurturing,and uplifting budding poets and young writers.

The prestigious ceremony was graced by Mr.Touseef Raina a well-known social activist and political worker as the Guest of Honour.Other notable attendees included Nazim Nazir (Editor, Daily Ta’meel-e-Irshad), Ghulam Hassan Meira, Ibn Shahbaz, and several other prominent scholars, writers and thinkers who shared their profound insights, elevating the intellectual tone of the event.

The programme was gracefully moderated by Dr.Mubarak Lone while the vote of thanks was delivered by young poet Sabir Nowshehri.

The attendees praised Hum Sukhan for its literary and cultural dedication and expressed hope that such enriching events will continue to be organised in the future with the same passion and consistency.
