J&K People's Conference Senior Vice President and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today said that the sole objective of the main constituent parties in PAGD is to gain power and safeguard their interests at the cost of the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The People of J&K have realised the hollow promises of NC and PDP to fight for identity and special status of J&K.
Abdul Gani Vakil was addressing the Party workers convention in Nowpora Kalan Sopore today.
While addressing the gathering Vakil said “PAGD was ostensibly formed to fight for the restoration of Article 370 and statehood of J&K. A considerable time has passed since its creation however we are yet to see a clear roadmap for fulfilling its stated objectives. The NC and PDP are speaking in different voices and in the interest of their respective parties and not in the interest of J&K. Their only reason to stay together is to grab power in the Assembly elections. It is no longer an alliance of ideology but an alliance of convenience. The people of J&K can clearly see through their doublespeak and will no longer be fooled by their hypocrisy”, Vakil added.
Vakil asserted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are beginning to see the deceit of these two parties and are now looking up to the J&K People's Conference as a viable and credible political force. J&K People's Conference will emerge to become the strongest voice of the people of J&K, especially the youth and will zealously work under the leadership of Sajad Lone for the welfare of our people,” as the leadership is genuinely representing the aspirations and sentiments of youth Vakil added.
Besides others who address the workers include Tariq Ahmad Mir, Abdul Salam Bhat, Ghulam Hassan Lone and several others.
