INDIAN ARMY ORGANISES AWARENESS LECTURE ON DRUG ABUSE & TOBACCO ADDICTION AT BUDHAL

Rajouri : Indian Army at Samote organised an awareness lecture on harmful effects of Drug Abuse & Tobacco addictionin Budhal. The event was conducted with the theme of 'Protecting the youth and promoting welfare of human kind'.

Young generation today is getting engrossed in drugs & there is a need to guide them to a right path. With this as a aim, the event focused on instilling awareness about dangers of drug abuse amongst the youth and its ill effects in the society. The focus of the campaign was to enlighten local people about increasing drug menace and its harmful effects, both physical and mental health. Local youth were made aware as to how one time use of drugs to deal with stress, to get a momentary high or to just ‘fit in’ with his or her peers, affect their lives as well as their family. The indls were also informed about the ill effects of Tobacco addiction & how does it leads to oral cancer among youth.

A total of 32 local youth attended the awareness lecture. The locals expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude towards Indian Army for organising such awareness programmes and seminar on social issues which have greatly affected the youth and people as such of this remote area of Budhal – Kandi in Rajouri District.
