Army Ruled Out IED Possibility Before Recovery of Radio Sets, Bullet In Rajouri.

Jammu, July 23 : Army on Friday said that it ruled out that radio sets and a bullet were recovered from Rajouri district’s Lamberi village was not an Improvised Explosive Device as soldiers rushed to the location soon after being informed about it.   

 

“A young boy from Lamberi Village in District Rajouri (J&K) recovered two Radio Sets with one round (ammunition) of AK-47, when he chanced upon a suspicious packet in his neighbourhood. Immediately, he informed the village Sarpanch, police and the nearest Army det.,” a defence ministry spokesman based in Jammu, Lt Col Devender Anand, said in a statement.

 

 “Army persons rushed to rule out an IED at the location, he said, adding, "The young boy has been applauded for his excellent situational awareness and prompt action as a dutiful citizen.”
