Thousands Across Kashmir Gather in Zadibal for Majlis-e-Asad
Day Two Witnesses Deep Reflections on Knowledge, Faith, and Service in the Path of Imam Hussain (AS)
Srinagar, 8th August 2025:On the second day of Majlis-e-Asad at the historic Imam Bargah Zadibal, thousands of mourners from across Kashmir converged to pay tribute to the unparalleled sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) and his noble companions. The solemn proceedings began early at 7:00 AM with the continuous recitation of Marsiya-e-Imam Hussain (AS), filling the air with remembrance and devotion.
At 3:00 PM, All J&K Shia Association President, Molvi Imran Reza Ansari, delivered the Majlis-e-Aza, focusing on the importance of knowledge for today’s youth. Drawing from the life of Imam Ali (AS), known as Bab-ul-Ilm (The Gate of Knowledge), he reminded the gathering that true strength lies in wisdom, understanding, and moral courage. Molvi Imran also spoke about the divine knowledge of the Twelve Imams, highlighting the immense contributions of Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS), whose scholarly legacy in the fields of science, law, and philosophy continues to inspire generations.
The Majlis was followed by the symbolic and deeply emotional Zuljanah Sharief procession, which commenced from the residence of Late Syed Nazir and concluded at Imam Bargah Zadibal, drawing poignant tears from the faithful.
In his concluding address, Molvi Imran expressed heartfelt gratitude to the residents of Zadibal and surrounding areas for opening their homes and hearts to the Azadaran-e-Imam Hussain AS. He reminded the gathering that Imam Hussain (AS) never lets the service of his mourners go unrewarded, quoting:
“The one who weeps for me or makes others weep for me will be with me in Paradise.”
Special appreciation was extended to the male and female volunteers whose tireless service ensured smooth proceedings, as well as those serving Niyaz from Sultan Mohallah, Mohallah Syed Afzal, Hardapanzoo and JK Peoples Development Trust & Medical Aid team for their medical camp and care for mourners.
Molvi Imran also thanked the officials and departments whose dedication made the gathering possible, including JK Police IG Kashmir, SSP Srinagar, SP Hazratbal, especially SDPO Zadibal for his exceptional work in ensuring smooth arrangements, SHO Zadibal, DC Srinagar, CMO Srinagar, ZMO Zadibal, ExN Jal Shakti Srinagar and his team, Commissioner SMC, Joint Commissioner SMC, Chief Sanitation Officer SMC, and the Ward Officer Zadibal along with his team who did a brilliant job, Fire Service Department, KPDCL especially AEE BAMK.
The day concluded with prayers for all attendees, with Molvi Imran recalling the timeless words of Imam Hussain (AS):
“Indeed, I did not rise except to seek reform in the nation of my grandfather.”
He urged the gathering to carry forward the values of truth, justice, and service, making every action a tribute to the legacy of Karbala.
