Handwara,Dec,13:The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara, Shri Sahil Sarangal, IPS, on Saturday chaired a comprehensive crime and security review meeting at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office (DPO) Handwara. The meeting was attended by all Gazetted Officers, Station House Officers, and In-charges of Police Posts from across the district.
During the meeting, the SSP reviewed the prevailing crime and security situation in the district, with particular focus on combating narcotics trafficking, drug abuse, and anti-national activities. He emphasized the need for intensified operations against drug peddlers and directed officers to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards those involved in unlawful and anti-national acts.
SSP Handwara also laid stress on effective enforcement of traffic regulations, timely disposal of pending cases, and enhancement of the overall quality of investigations. He instructed officers to strengthen preventive policing measures, ensure proper collection and use of evidence, and strictly adhere to legal and procedural norms.
Urging the police personnel to maintain professionalism and accountability, the SSP called for a people-friendly approach in policing. He reiterated that dedicated and sincere efforts by the police force are essential to ensure peace, safety, and security for the general public of the district.
