Arms, Ammunition Recovered in Kupwara’s Mawar Forests

Langate, Sept 21: Security forces on Sunday recovered a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives during a joint operation in Mawar area of Langate in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
An Official told,(Indian Army) that Army’s 30 RR, and BSF jointly launched a search operation in the forest area of Mawar, leading to the recovery of a bag containing a large quantity of warlike stores.
The seized items include one CANIK 9mm pistol with two magazines and 20 rounds, two 7.62mm pistols with two magazines and 14 rounds, one AK magazine with 40 rounds, eight hand grenades, and two suspected IEDs which were destroyed on the spot.
The official told that the operation was still underway in the area till late night yesterday and finally concluded at around 9:00Pm yesterday.
“Security forces are aggressively pursuing their mission to dismantle the terrorist ecosystem, including its cadres and sympathisers, with the aim of ushering in lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement added.
