Srinagar attack: ASI among 2 policemen succumb: Police
Srinagar: Two policemen, who were injured along with 12 other cops in a militant attack at Zewan area of Srinagar, succumbed to their injuries on Monday evening.
An official told that at least 14 policemen were injured in a militant attack in the evening at Zewan area of Srinagar.
They said that militants fired upon a police bus carrying policemen at Zewan, leaving 14 cops wounded.
“#Terrorists fired upon a police vehicle near Zewan in Pantha Chowk area of #Srinagar. 14 personnel #injured in the attack. All the injured personnel evacuated to hospital. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
However, police said that two among them have succumbed to their injuries. The slain include Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and a Selection Grade Constable, police said.
