SRINAGAR: Security forces arrested two suspected militant associates of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district, Police said on Saturday. The two were arrested by a joint team of police, Army and CRPF at Sumlar Bandipora. “Acting on specific information regarding movement of terrorist associates, Police along with Army (14RR) and CRPF (3rd BN) at a checkpoint established at Sumlar near Fisheries Farm Bandipora intercepted two suspected persons identified as Abrar Ahmad Wani alias Abu Qadir and Danish Pervaiz, both residents of Sumlar, Bandipora,” a police statement said. “During checking, two Chinese grenades and other incriminating materials were recovered from them. They were arrested and shifted to the Police Station where they remain in custody,” police added. Police said the two were militant associates and were linked with LeT. Police have registered a case under relevant section of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in Police Station Bandipora. (UNI)
