Sanjay Saraf Demands Restoration of Temple Land

Sanjay Saraf Demands Restoration of Temple Land SRINAGAR: Rashtriya Lok Jan Shakti Party (RLJP) National General Secretary Sanjay Saraf while congratulating the people on the arrival of the month of Ramadan urged the administration to ensure the availability of essential items in addition to electricity, water, and sanitation in this month. Addressing a press conference in Srinagar Sanjay Saraf said that the availability of electricity should be ensured in the month of Ramadan at the time of Sehri and Iftar. Saraf also congratulated the people on the occasion of Navratri. General Secretary of RLJP, while commenting on the illegal occupation of government land and retrieving the same by the administration, said that Temple land should be restored. He said that according to a rough estimate in the year 1988-89, temples had land worth Rs 2000 crore, but where it went is a question itself. Saraf urged the administration and the Lt. Governor to investigate who were the people who sold the land. He said that this land needs to be restored, and it should be handed back to the temples. He also demanded that Pandits should be given the responsibility of taking care of the temples. Saraf also insisted on introducing the Temple Bill on the lines of the Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees. Emphasizing the 'PMFE' scheme to increase employment in Jammu and Kashmir, Saraf said that this scheme will not only provide employment to the youth but they can also provide employment to others. He emphasized on adopting a solid policy in favor of daily wagers, saying that these workers work in the front line during adverse situations. Welcoming the budget, he said that however, it needs to be implemented at the ground level so that the people get its benefits and see development in Jammu and Kashmir. While demanding the increase in ration quota, Saraf said that former Union Minister and late Lok Jan Shakti Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan had said that if the country does not grow crops even for two years, they can supply ration to 135 crore people. However, the ration quota is non- sufficient in Jammu and Kashmir, as a result of which people are facing hardships. He also appealed to the central government to reconsider the decision and see that if there is space, the ration quota should be increased in Jammu and Kashmir. On this occasion, he said that in view of Rashtriya Lok JanShakti Party's manifesto and people-friendly policies, the number of people coming to it is increasing every day. He urged the workers to take the manifesto of the party door to door. Saraf said that his party is ready for the elections. He said that in the coming elections, the RLJP will nominate its candidates from more or less each assembly constituency. (CNS)
