SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) rescheduled the annual regular exams of class 11th in soft zone areas and examinations of classes 10th, 11th, and 12th in hard zone areas on Thursday.

BOSE Director Academics, in a notification, stated that the board received directions from the Joint Chief Electoral Officer of JK (Jammu) regarding the schedule for the conduct of Lok Sabha Election 2024, requesting to ensure that no examination date clashes with the election dates in the UT of JK.

JKBOSE mentioned that the National Testing Agency is conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2024, session-2 from April 4 to 15.

It further stated that JKBOSE received numerous representations from students requesting rescheduling of board exams in this regard.

“In view of the issue, all concerned are informed that the upcoming examinations of class 11th annual regular 2024 in Soft Zone and Annual Regular 2024 examinations of classes 10th, 11th, and 12th in Hard Zone Areas have been rescheduled. The said examinations shall now be held on rescheduled dates in two sessions, namely morning and evening shift,” the notification reads. (KNO)

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (JKSCERT) Saturday postponed the examination of all papers of 8th standard except for the English subject.

Joint Director Central for JKSCERT said that the postponement was announced in view of the representations from various quarters for in the UT of JK.

The official communique in this regard reads, “It is notified for all the concerned that the Middle Standard Examinations scheduled to be held on 24th, 26th and 29th of March in respect of soft zone and 26th and 29th of March in respect of hard zone stand postponed.”

JKSCERT said that the fresh dates for conduct of these papers of both Hard Zone shall be notified in due course of time.

Earlier, the council had proposed to conduct examination of regional language paper of 8th standard simultaneously in both soft and hard zones on April-07.

JKSCERT had said that it had not received the questions papers from on time and were not in position to supply the question papers of Kashmiri subjects due to paucity of time.

The Joint Director of JKSCERT of Kashmir division in a communique said that in view of Middle Standard Examination 2024 and furnishing the stock position of question papers and reference, it is submitted that the confidential material of MSE 2023-24 shall be dispatched on 23-03-2024 in respect of Kashmir Division.

“It is here to mention that regional language paper of soft zone already notified to be held on March-24-2024 needs to be rescheduled as the regional language paper shall not be supplied on the said date due to paucity of time,” it reads.

The joint director of the council further said, “Keeping in view the matter, it is requested that the regional language paper scheduled on March-24-2024 in respect of soft zone may kindly be rescheduled and shall be conducted on 7th of April along with Hard zone paper of regional languages.”

Meanwhile a complex head in Srinagar said, “Normally we used to get the entire confidential material including the question papers before the commencement of examinations.”

He said, “This year, the complex heads received the confidential materials at the 11th hour and a portion of it is yet to be received including the question papers of Kashmiri and English subjects. (KNO)

SRINAGAR: Central University of Kashmir on Wednesday announced postponement of exams scheduled for tomorrow – March 7, 2024.

“It is notified for the information of all concerned that the examinations scheduled for 7 March, 2024 (Thursday) are hereby postponed,” reads a notification issued by the controller of examinations.

It said that the date for the said examinations shall be notified separately.

SRINAGAR: University of Kashmir on Wednesday announced postponement of exams scheduled for tomorrow – March 7, 2024.

“It is notified for the information of all concerned candidates that all the examinations of University of Kashmir, which were scheduled to be held on 07/03/2024 stand postponed,” reads a notification.

“Fresh dates shall be issued soon,” reads the notification further. The varsity officials however didn’t specify any reason for postponement of the exams.

SRINAGAR: University of Kashmir on Tuesday notified about the postponement of exams scheduled for tomorrow, February 21, 2024. 

"It is notified for the information of all concerned candidates that due to inclement weather conditions, all examinations of University of Kashmir which are scheduled to be held on 21 of February 2024 stand postponed", reads a notification as per GNS. 

Fresh dates shall be issued soon, reads the notification by Assistant Controller of Examination of the varsity. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: The University of Kashmir has postponed all the examinations scheduled for (Monday) 19th and (Tuesday) 20th of Feb. 2024 in view of inclement weather conditions. Fresh dates for the conduct of postponed papers shall be communicated separately.

SRINAGAR: University of Kashmir Wednesday postponed all examinations scheduled for Oct-6 and Oct-10 respectively.

The officials of the varsity said that it will issue the fresh dates for the postponed exams.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Assistant Controller of Exams at KU said, “All examinations scheduled to be held on 06/10/2023 and 10/10/2023 respectively have been postponed.”

The official communique said that KU will issue new exam dates separately.

“However, viva voce for B.A LLB of 7th semester scheduled to be held on 10/10/2023 shall remain stand and the examination centre for the Viva Voce fixed at School of law, University of Kashmir has been shifted to Kashmir Law College, Nowshera, Srinagar,” it reads. (KNO)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Friday said the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has assured him that the issue of CUET examination centres will be addressed on priority.

Office of LG J&K on its official Twitter handle, as per the reports, LG Sinha discussed the matter relating to exam centres for the scheduled Common University Entrance Test (CUET) with Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan and requested for CUET centres in J&K. 

LG Sinha said that the Union Minister has assured the issue will be addressed on priority.

Earlier, the University of Kashmir said that the CUET examination centre issue will get 'resolved' on Friday. 

Vice Chancellor Prof Nilofar Khan said that it has taken up the CUET examination centre issue with the National Testing Agency (NTA) and Higher Education Department.

Pertinently, hundreds of aspirants have expressed concern over allotting examination centres outside Jammu and Kashmir in contrary to their preferred centres.

The aspirants said that their preferred examination centres for the entrance test were changed from Jammu and Kashmir to other states by NTA. (KNO)
