SRINAGAR: Police on Wednesday said that it have arrested an accused for stabbing a youth in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

Informing via tweet, the Srinagar police on its official twitter handle wrote, "One accused namely Kaiser Ahmad Bhat(28) S/o Khursheed Ahmad Bhat R/o Nagbal, Ganderbal arrested for stabbing a youth with knife at Eidgah area. Accused has history of stone pelting. Weapon of offence has also been recovered. FIR no 99/2023 u/s 323, 341, 307 IPC in Safakadal PS, reads the tweet. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: A youth was injured after being stabbed in Nowhata area of Central Kashmir Srinagar district on Friday, while the police said that the accused has been arrested in short time. A senior police officer told the news agency Kashmir Scroll that victim (name withheld) resident of Nowhata was attacked with a knife in his native area.

In the incident, he received grievous injuries following which he was shifted to hospital, where his condition is said to be stable,” he said.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and attacker has been identified as Zubair Ahmed Bhat of Rajouri kadal, Srinagar arrested for stabbing & grievously injuring a person with knife. FIR No 27/2023 under sections 323,341 & 307 of IPC registered in Nowhatta PS. Weapon of offence also recovered. (KS)

SRINAGAR: The Srinagar Police on Wednesday claimed to have solved Batamaloo murder case within 24 days and accused has been arrested. A senior police officer told news agency, Kashmir Scroll that yesterday's murder case at Batmaloo in which a person was killed with a sharp edged knife has been solved as main accused has been held.

He had affair with the daughter of deceased & on a heated argument he killed the person, he said. Notably, on Tuesday evening a man identified Aijaz Ah Bhat son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat resident of Mominabad Batamaloo was stabbed to death in Batamaloo area. Soon after the incident, police registered the case and started investigation the officer added. (KS)

SRINAGAR: A man was stabbed to death in Bypass-Batamaloo area of summer capital, Srinagar on Tuesday.

Some unknown persons attacked a man identified as Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Mominabad at Bypass-Batmaloo near Dar Iron Traders in Srinagar on Tuesday evening, news agency KDC reported.

The man was taken to JVC Hospital Srinagar, where doctors declared him dead.

Principal JVC, Dr Irfan confirmed the death to KDC and said the man was brought dead to hospital.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and investigation has been set into motion. (KDC)

SRINAGAR: A youth has sustained injuries after being allegedly stabbed by his fiancée in Kak Sarai area in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district, official sources said.

They told GNS that a youth, identified as Aadil Ahmad of Bemina, suffered abdominal injuries after being stabbed by his fiancée in Darish Kadal of Kak Sarai locality this afternoon.

The youth, they said, was taken to SMHS hospital for treatment.  

Confirming it, a senior police official told GNS that they have launched an investigation into the incident.
