SRINAGAR: Four members of a family including a couple and their minor kids died after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Kishtwar district on Thursday.

Officials told GNS that a swift car ( JK17-2460) on way from Kishtwar toward Bhandarkote met an accident near Bhandarkote,  resulting in the on spot death of three people identified as Yasir Ahmed Butt (37) Son of Abdul Gani Butt, his wife Shazada Begum (36), their child Artash Yasir (8). One more of their kid, Ailaf Yasir (5), scummed to injuries in hospital while another child Aarish Yasir (3) has been injured and under treatment  District Hospital Kishtwar.

Confirming it, a police official told GNS that a case has been registered in this regard. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Husband-wife duo from Srinagar were injured in a road accident in Sinthan top area of Kokernag in South Kashmir's Anantnag district.

An official told News Agency the Kashmir Scroll that an accident took place at Sinthan Top when one Alto Car bearing registration number Jk01AT 5249 coming from kishtwar towards kokernag skidded down in to a deep gorge.

In the incidents driver Muneer Ahmad Malik S/o Hafeezullah Malik along with his wife namely Dr.Aasiya Tabasum both residents of Ranbeelgad Shalteng Srinagar received injuries They were evacuated and brought to PHC kokernag for treatment where condition is said to be stable.

Meanwhile police have taken cognizance and started investigation. (KS)

SRINAGAR: In a heart wrenching incident, throat-slit bodies of a couple were found in Rajouri district on Tuesday, officials said.

A police official told GNS that the bodies of the couple—Mohammad Azam and her wife Gulzar Begum—were found inside their home in Bagla village of Kandi area in Rajouri district.

 Soon after the information, a team of police and security forces reached the spot and took the bodies in their possession for medico-legal formalities.

Asked if there was militancy angle with regard to the incident, the official said that “everything will be unravelled during investigations.” “A case has been registered and further investigations were underway,” he added.

When contacted DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range,  Dr Haseeb Mughal, told GNS that it is a case of brutal murder, and an inhumane act. “Police team is on the spot and investigations are underway. At this moment we cannot rule out anything including the terror angle.” (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police Monday said to have arrested a couple impersonating as IAS, IPS officers in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

The police said in a statement that a written complaint was received by Police Station Sadder to the effect that fraudulent activities of two individuals impersonating themselves as IPS and IAS officers have come to fore. "They have cheated a number of people on pretext of giving them jobs etc", reads the statement as per GNS. 

"The accused individuals have been identified as Manmohan Gangoo son of Late Gardari Lal Gangoo a resident of Barnai, Jammu A/P Baghat srinagar, Occupation: Fake IPS Designation/Identification: Suspended HC and Ayoush Koul W/O Manmohan Gangoo, Occupation Housewife, role impersonating as IAS officer", reads the statement.

"On receipt of this application an FIR 73/23 was registered under sections 419, 420, 468, 471, 170, and 467 of the Indian Penal Code.Immediate action was taken and the accused individuals have been apprehended."

"Investigation into the matter has been initiated to establish the veracity of the other allegations and for collection of evidence", reads the statement adding "As part of this ongoing investigation, certain recoveries including money and jewelry have been made and some electronic gadgets have been seized on spot in front of Executive Magistrates. Many fake orders have been found from these digital devices including fake order of his own induction into IPS."

"Public is requested not to fall prey to such touts & report if they come across anyone promising undue favours. Further, all those who have been looted by this couple should report to Police station Sadder for immediate redressal", reads the statement further. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: A couple was injured in a road accident in Gund village of Kangan in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Monday morning.

Officials confirmed that Mushtaq Ahmad Raina and his wife Mymoona Raina were injured after their vehicle collided with truck in Gund village.

They said both the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where doctors referred them to the SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment.

Meanwhile, driver of the truck has been arrested, while a case has also been registered in this regard. (CNS)
