SRINAGAR: A non-local tourist cab driver was shot at and injured by suspected militants in Shopian district on Monday evening, officials said.

A Top police officer told GNS that one tourist cab driver was shot by militants in Borihallan area in the district, causing him injuries in his left arm. 

"The driver was immediately lifted from the site to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment, said the officer, adding the area has been cordoned off to nab the assailants.

SRINAGAR: A man was arrested after he fatally shot at his nephew over a family dispute in a village in Poonch district last night. 

An official told GNS that during the intervening Friday and Saturday night, one Joginder Singh, son of Jodh Singh, a resident of Dara Dullian Poonch fired upon his nephew namely Gagandeep Singh son of Kulbir Singh, with his licensed 12-bore rifle. 

In the incident, the official said, Gagandeep died on the spot.

Confirming the incident, a police official told GNS that  case has been registered in this regard. "The accused has been arrested and the weapon of offence also seized," the police official added. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Suspected militants shot dead one person and injuring other in Karfali Mohalla Shalkadal area of Srinagar district on Wednesday evening.

A top police officer told GNS that this evening militants fired upon two person from close range. One of the injured succumbed on spot while another has been in shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

As per Intial reports one has been identified as Amritpal Singh (deceased) of Amritsar and another has been identified as Rohit son of who is admitted in SMHS, both are said to be non-locals. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Suspected militants fired upon on cop in Hamdania colony area of Bemina in Srinagar on Saturday evening.

A senior police told GNS that militants this evening fired upon a cop in Hamdania colony.

He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is said to be stable.

Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

SRINAGAR: policeman, who was injured critically in a road accident more than a week ago, succumbed at SKIMS on Wednesday.

An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that a cop identified as Waseem Ahmad Chasti, son of Mohd Ameen Chasti (35) and a resident of the old town of Baramulla, was injured a week ago in South Kashmir's Qazigund.

He succumbed to his injuries after being hospitalized for a week. In this regard, the police have already registered a case, and further investigation has been initiated. (KS)

SRINAGAR: An army man was injured in a sniper attack by Pakistani troops along the line of control (LoC) in the Keran sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district. Official sources told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that the Pakistani army fired a sniper shot at an Indian army post in the Keran sector on Friday evening.

The sniper shot left a soldier, Sourav Kumar, wounded in his left chest. Sources said that the injured soldier was airlifted to the army’s 92-base hospital in Srinagar for specialized treatment.

Sources further said that the condition of the soldier is out of danger and stable. (KS) 

SRINAGAR: An 18-year-old student who was shot and injured by unknown gunmen in Watrigam Wanihama area of Anantnag district on last evening succumbed to injuries at SKIMS here on Thursday.

A top police officer confirmed to GNS that the youth identified as Sahil Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Watrigam Dialgam at Wanihama has succumbed to the wounds.

Dar with bullet injury in neck had been immediately shifted to nearby hospital where from he was shifted to SKIMS Soura here. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: A student was shot and injured by unknown gunmen on Wednesday evening in Watrigam Wanihama area of Anantnag district.

A top police officer told GNS that suspected militants fired upon a youth identified as Sahil Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Watrigam Dialgam a student at Wanihama.

He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, he has a bullet injury in his neck. 

Till this report was being filed his status of condition was not available.

SRINAGAR: Two non-locals were injured after unidentified gunmen suspected to be militants fired upon them in Lal Chowk area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday night.

A top police officer told GNS both of them were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where their condition is said to be stable. Their identification was not available at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, the officer added. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Three Non-locals Labourers were injured after suspected militants fired upon them in Gagran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday evening.

A top police officer told GNS that militants this evening fired upon three non-locals in Gagran area.

All three were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, the status of their condition was not available.

As per intial reports they have been identified as Anmol, Hirlal and Pinto. More details emerging.(GNS)

A top police officer told GNS that militants this evening fired upon a man identified as Aqib Ahmad Dar resident of Marhama Bijbhera.

He was immediately shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment. As per the reports his condition is stated to be stable.
