SRINAGAR: Police on Monday said that three anti-national elements were booked under Public Safety Act in North Kashmir's Baramulla district.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that acting tough against ANEs Baramulla Police booked three persons namely Mysir Majeed Malik son of Abdul Majeed resident of Seriwarpora Pattan, Abdul Ahad Dar son of Ghulam Mohd DAR resident of Dar Mohalla Palhallan & Khursheed Ahmad Waza son of Late Gh Ahmad resident of Tantraypora Palhallan under Public Safety Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.

The statement further stated that the booked persons have been detained and subsequently lodged in District Jail Kupwara & Anantnag.

Pertinent to mention that many cases are registered against these  persons and were involved in disturbance of L&O and subversion. Despite their involvement in many FIR's they did not mend their anti national & Social  activities, reads the statement.(GNS)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said to have booked five miscreants under Public Safety Act and subsequently lodging them in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu and District Jail Udhampur. 

"Acting tough against ANEs (Anti-national Elements) Baramulla Police booked five persons namely Asif Ali Bhat son of Ali Mohammad resident of Badipora Tangmarg, Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat son of Gh Mohd resident of Tantraypora Palhallan, Waseem Mehraj Farash @Waseem Farash son of Mehraj ud din resident of Khanpora, Bashir Ahmad Sualiah son of Late Ghulam Mohammad resident of Mohalla Jadeed Baramulla & Bilal Ahmad Dar @Shakir son of Gh Nabi resident of Wussan Khoie Pattan under Public Safety Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority," reads a statement issued to GNS. 

"The booked persons have been detained and subsequently lodged in District Jail Udhampur & Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu."

"Pertinent to mention that many cases are registered against these  persons and were involved in the disturbance of L&O and subversion. Despite their involvement in many FIRs they did not mend their anti national & Social  activities," reads the statement further. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Pulwama said to have booked a 'romour monger' in the district on Wednesday. 

"Today Police station Rajpora has registered FIR against one rumour monger namely Sameer Ahmed Paray son of Ab Rasheed Parray, resident of Kabikoot CB Nath as the said person has recently uploaded a false post on his fake Face book ID "Babar Azam" in which he has uploaded a photo depicting Arms and ammunition and has claimed that a new one from pulwama has joined militancy," reads a statement issued to GNS. 

The said person, the statement reads, has been found circulating incriminating content on social media there by disrupting public peace and tranquility. 

"In this regard a Case FIR no 23/2024 u/s 505(b)/IPC has been  registered in police station Rajpora and investigation set into motion."

"General public is requested to abstain from posting any false content on social media. Strict action will be taken against any person found involved in posting malicious content on internet. Pulwama police is committed to the safety and security of its citizens," the statement reads further. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said that it booked three people under Public safety act(PSA) and lodged them in the central jail in Kot Bhalwal Jammu.

A police spokesperson said that the Bandipora Police booked three persons under PSA and lodged them in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu, for their continuous involvement in Anti-National activities.

He said that the trio have been identified as Sheikh Danish Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh of Aloosa, Gulam Mohmmad Waza son of Gh Qadir Waza of Bagh Bandipora and Mohmad Amin Rather son of Mohmad Maqsood Rather of Rather Mohalla Ajas.

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla Saturday said it booked a 'hardcore instigator' and subsequently lodged him at Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu. 

"Acting tough against ANEs Baramulla Police booked one person namely Nasir Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie resident of Raipora Palhallan Pattan under Public Safety Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority", said a police spokesman in a statement issued to GNS. 

"The booked person has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu", the spokesman said. 

"Pertinent to mention that the person is a hard-core Instigator  many cases are registered against him and was involved in the disturbance of L&O and subversion", the spokesman said adding "Despite his involvement in many FIRs he did not mend his anti national and (anti) social activities." (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Aqib Ahmed Renzu, a corporator at Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), has been booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) on Thursday sources said.

Sources told news agency, Kashmir Scroll that the action was taken subsequent to his recent arrest on charges of alleged sexual harassment.

According to reliable sources, Aqib Ahmed Renzu, who was arrested last week under FIR numbers FIR No 50/2023, under sections 354, 354A, and 354D of the Indian Penal Code, related to sexual harassment, outraging modesty, and online stalking. Today, authorities invoke the Public Safety Act against Aqib Ahmed Renzu.

The specific order, with reference number DMS-69-2023, has been implemented, leading to his shift to the Kotibalwal jail in Jammu. (KS)

SRINAGAR: Police on Saturday said that it arrested one SMC corporator under the charges of sexual harassment, outraging modesty and online Stalking in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

While informing through micro-blogging X, the Srinagar police wrote, "One SMC corporator Aqib Ahmed Renzu of Nishat Srinagar arrested for sexual harassment, outraging modesty and online stalking. Strong technical evidences in this matter were produced by the brave victim. FIR No 50/2023 U/S 354, 354A, 354D registered in RM Bagh Police station,". (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police held a woman alongside her ally involved in extortion in guise of being close-aide of Police were arrested in south Kashmir's Shopian district, officials said on Tuesday. 

"Shopian Police in a coordinated and efficient manner have arrested one lady  namely Mehbooba Akhtar wife of Shafkat Mohi-ud-din Kuchay resident of Kardar, Kulgam, who was acting  as tout  and was extorting money from locals in Shopian", reads a statement issued to GNS. 

The lady, the statement reads, was  pretending to be close to police in Shopian and in lieu of  getting the persons, who are brought in for questioning under preventive detention by police, released, she extorted huge amounts of money from a few families in Shopian.

"She was assisted by another person namely Ghulam Hassain Shah son of Modh Shaban Shah resident of Behibagh, Kulgam in this fraud."

"In this regard, case FIR No- 158/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police station Shopian and Investigation has been  taken up", reads the statement, adding, "Based on the information received, both extortionists were called to the Police Station for questioning."

The accused person, the statement reads, disclosed the whole nexus and modus operandi that they have used to extort money from people.

"The co-accused Gh. Hussain Shah further disclosed that lady in discussion has extorted a tune of rupees  8.4 lakh  from these families over the period of time. Police was able to recover  2.5 lakh rupees from her possession. Further recovery is expected."

SSP Shopian Tanushree has in the meantime said that extortion is a form of blackmail and made it clear to the public that they should not fell prey of any such blackmailer instead they should call at Police and help the police to eradicate all types of crimes from the society and play their roles in making shopian a crime free. SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday booked a former militant and member of APHC under Public Safety Act (PSA) in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. 

Bandipora police in a Tweet, as per the news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that  Ameer Hamza, an ex-militant, from Quilmuqam village was involved in anti-national activities. 

"Bandipora Police booked one ex terrorist & member of APHC namely Ameer Hamza Shah R/o Quilmuqam Bandipora under PSA and lodged him in District Jail Baramulla, for his continuous involvement in anti National activities," police tweeted. (KNO)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday booked three councillors a day after scuffle broke out between employees and councillors of Municipal Council Baramulla. 

A police official told the news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they have registered FIR against three councillors who had allegedly damaged government property, besides used unparliamentary language against employees and executive officer of MC Baramulla. 

He said that a case FIR No 131/2023 has been registered in this regard at police station Baramulla and further investigation has been taken up. 

On Tuesday, executive officer MC Baramulla had filed a police complaint against 3 councillors for damaging government property and using abusive language. 

He had alleged that the councillors forcibly entered MC Baramulla office and abused officials present there. 

Notably, the incident occurred a day after MC Baramulla president Touseef Raina was ousted after losing floor test following a no-confidence motion moved against him. (KNO)

SRINAGAR: Police on Tuesday booked three men in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities.

Mohammad Ashraf Mir of Wussan Pattan, Mohammad Yaseen Bhat of Tapper Pattan and Wasid Ashraf Sofi of Watergam Wagoora were booked under PSA after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority, police said.

Under the PSA, a detainee can be held for two years without trial.

The trio were detained and subsequently lodged in District Jail Udhampur, Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jail Jammu and District Jail Kathua respectively, they said.

Police said that many cases are registered against these persons and were involved in anti-national activities.
“Despite their involvement in many FIR's they did not mend their anti national activities,” a police spokesman said. (UNI)

SRINAGAR: A fraudster from Srinagar has been arrested and booked under PSA for fraud, human trafficking and child labour and cheating.

Srinagar police in a tweet as per the news agency, Kashmir Scroll said that one fraudster identified as Rizwan Ahmad Shah of Safakadal Srinagar, Owner of Shah Ji Consultancy, Rajbagh haa been booked in PSA and lodged in Kot Balwal Jail. He had done fraud, human trafficking, child labour, cheating, police said, adding that public is advised to check credentials of consultancies for hiring domestic helps.

"One Fraudster Rizwan Ahmad Shah of Safakadal Srinagar, Owner of Shah Ji Consultancy, Rajbagh booked in PSA & lodged in Kot Balwal Jail. He had done fraud, human trafficking, child labour, cheating.
