In a recent incident, a youth was grievously injured after he was stabbed by another youth during an altercation in the Sopore area of North Kashmir's Baramulla district on intervening Monday and Tuesday night.

One of the primary reasons for the increase in knife attacks is the prevailing sense of despair and hopelessness among the youth. The political turmoil in the region, coupled with economic instability, has led to a lack of opportunities and avenues for the young people. This has resulted in a growing frustration and sense of alienation, making them susceptible to extremist ideologies and violence.

Police today produced a charge sheet in the court of law against a murder accused who chocked her brother’s wife to death when the victim resisted his sexual assault at Kadalbal Pampore area of South Kashmir.

    The charge sheet was produced by Awantipora Police after the completion of 3 months investigation.

   Pertinently, after the murder of Rozy Jan wife of Muzafar Ahmed Ganaie, police had registered an FIR vide number 5/23 and SDPO Imtiyaz Ahmed Mir was appointed investigating Officer to crack the case.

    The deceased was murdered by her brother-in-law namely Altaf  Ganie when she resisted sexual exploitation by the accused.

    During the investigation, all cogent evidence including oral, documentary, circumstantial, medical & Technical were collected by the Investigating Officer and the case was chargesheet against the accused within the mandatory period of 90 days.

   Meanwhile, SSP Awantipora extended his gratitude to all those people who cooperated with the Police and got their statements recorded impartially. He also appreciated the efforts of the investigating officer Imtiyaz Ahmed SDPO Pampore for concluding the investigation of the case within the stipulated time.
