SRINAGAR: A Haji pilgrim from Sopore who returned from Hajj on Tuesday has passed away after battling a massive heart stroke. Sources told Kashmir Scroll that one Haji of the first batch returned from Hajj, namely Ghulam Mohammad Gojri, son of Mohammad Ramzan Gojri of Hygam Sopore, aged around 70 years old, suffered Brian haemorrhage at home. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors referred him to JVC Srinagar.

Despite the efforts of the medical staff, the pilgrim’s condition deteriorated rapidly; sadly, he succumbed to the illness today morning, thus leaving behind a shocked and grieving community, they said Meanwhile, a family member of the deceased Haji also confirmed this sad news to Kashmir Scroll, saying he lost his breath today morning at SKIMS medical institute Srinagar.(KS)

SRINAGAR: In view of arrival of Haj Flights from 18th July, 2023, the relatives of the pilgrims of Kashmir Division (except Srinagar) desiring of receiving the pilgrims at Srinagar International Airport can collect vehicle passes from the office of respective Deputy Commissioners from 13th July, 2023 onwards.

The relatives of pilgrims of UT Ladakh, Jammu Division and district Srinagar shall collect the same from Haj House, Bemina, Srinagar three days prior to the scheduled date of arrival.

The passes can be had against production of xerox copy of identity card of attendant/relative having cover number written on the same. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Kashmiri Haj pilgrims who have proceeded through the State Haj Committees are having a tough time in the holy city of Madina. They have been accusing Haj Committee of India of cheat and fraud claiming that they have been huddled in those dinghy hotels rejected by Saudi Government.
 
Some of the pilgrims informed the news agency Kashmir News Trust that Haj Committee of India has provided them worst kind of accommodation in Madina. They said over 600 pilgrims have been huddled in a building, lacking lavatory facilities.
  
In most buildings, pilgrims are seen queuing up before toilets. Worse, the toilet doors don’t close properly and taps run dry most of the time. Women pilgrims are having a miserable time on account of this situation. Facilities in the kitchen are no better. Many kitchens have no fridge. Five to six persons are accommodated in a room with the result there is no privacy for women. Insufficient air conditioners are only adding to the problems. Irate pilgrims are uploading video clips on social media to vent their grievances.
 
One of the pilgrims sent a video to this news agency about a filthy bathroom. Another pilgrim in an audio message alleged that the Coordinator Haj Committee of India Riyaz Beigh is not taking the grievances of pilgrims seriously. He said pilgrims have decided to take up the matter with the External Affairs Minister of India.
 
 Pilgrims are furious that the facilities promised to them by the Haj Committee in India are not to be found in Madina. “Government of India spends crores for the facilities of pilgrims but Haj Committee of India team particularly the Building Selection Team are indulging in corrupt practices adding to the hardships of pilgrims,” they said.
  
Notably, the Ministry of Minority Affairs is the nodal ministry to conduct Haj pilgrimage in India. Haj Committee of India is a statutory body under the Ministry of Minority Affairs. All aspects of the arrangements for the Haj Committee of India pilgrims in Saudi Arabia are coordinated by the Consulate General of India. (KNT)

SRINAGAR: All the selected Hajj pilgrims-2023 of Jammu Division who have opted Srinagar as Embarkation Point for their departure to KSA are being informed to reach Haj House Srinagar only one day prior to their departure.

Further, the pilgrims of Kashmir Division who visit Haj House for collection of their documents / any enquiry etc are requested to visit Haj House after 2.00 pm, as due to ongoing flight operation they shall not be allowed to enter Haj House.(GNS)

SRINAGAR: According to Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kupwara, the training for Manasik-e-Hajj of selected Haj Pilgrims of District Kupwara will start from 2nd May 2023.

Accordingly, the training for the pilgrims belonging to the tehsils of Kupwara, Trehgam, Kralpora, Keran, Karnah, Machil, Sogam, Lalpora and Drugmullah will be held at Masjid Murshideen Kupwara on 2nd May 2023 at 10:00 AM.

Similarly, training for the pilgrims belonging to Handwara, Zachaldara, Ramhall, Langate, Kralgund, Vilgam and Qalamabad tehsils will be held at Jamia Masjid Jadeed Handwara on 3rd May 2023 at 10:00 AM. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Haj Committee of India today extended the last date for remittance of advance Haj amount of Rs 81,800 by provisionally selected pilgrims upto 12th April, 2023.

In this regard, J&K Haj Committee has issued a notification wherein the pilgrims of Kashmir Division have been advised to deposit hard copies of Haj Application Form along with declaration, Medical Screening and Fitness Certificate, Original Machine-Readable Passport, Pay – In – Slip, One Photograph with white background at Haj House Bemina, Srinagar by or before April14, 2023.

 However, the provisionally selected Pilgrims of Jammu Division shall deposit the aforesaid documents in their respective Deputy commissioners’ offices by or before April 12, 2023 so as to reach Haj Committee by or before April 14, 2023.(GNS)

SRINAGAR: The Executive Officer, J&K Haj Committee today issued a communique stating that as per circular received from Haj Committee of India, all the Provisionally selected pilgrim are requested to deposit Advance of Rs. 81,800 each upto 7th April, 2023 positively. 

Payments can be made either  Online through www.hajcommittee.gov.in or in Haj Committee of India account maintained with SBI or account maintained with UBI through any branch having core Banking System by using unique Bank Reference Number in the Specified Pay – in slip on the website.

"In Addition, the Pilgrims of Kashmir Division are also advised to deposit a hard copy of Pay – In – Slip along the original passport at Haj House, Bemina, Srinagar by or before  April 10, 2023", reads the notification.

The notification also states that the Provisionally Selected Pilgrims of Jammu Division Shall deposit the aforesaid documents in their respective Deputy Commissioners Offices by or before April  08, 2023 so as to reach Haj Committee by or before April 10, 2023.    

"Besides above, all the selected pilgrims are advised to obtain the Medical Screening and Fitness Certificate as per the proforma available on Haj Committee of India Website www.hajcommittee.gov.in and submit the same alongwith passport."(GNS)
