SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday detained two accused in connection with a blast in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said.

The blast triggered by a handmade crude substance took place in the vicinity of the district hospital in Poonch town late Tuesday night, causing panic among locals.

A police officer said that they received info of suspected small intensity explosion like sound heard from an area near Poonch Hospital. “Necessary investigation into the matter has been set into motion to ascertain the exact nature of the material which apparently looks like a hand made crude substance," he said. 

SRINAGAR: A youth was killed, while another was injured on Friday after a mortar shell exploded in Samba district.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that one youth namely Pawan Singh (19) son of Kuldeep Singh resident of village Chandli  died and another youth Roshan Singh ( 29) son of Kaka Singh resident of village Chandli sustained splinter injuries when Mortar shell they were reportedly fiddling with exploded in the forest area of village Chandli in the J/D of PP Goran ,PS Samba today around 5:00 p.m. Injured referred to GMC Jammu.

Meanwhile a case has been registered in this regard and investigation has been taken up. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: A mysterious blast occurred in the premises of an armed police camp in Surankote area of Poonch district but there were no immediate reports of any loss or injury to life, officials said on Wednesday.    

They said that window panes of some vehicles, parked in the camp of armed police 6th battalion 'D coy ', were damaged in the blast, which occurred during the intervening night of December 19 and 20.  

 A police officer told GNS that investigations as to the nature of the blast are underway. “A mysterious blast has occurred and further investigations are underway,” the officer said, adding, “Further details will be shared in due course of time.” (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Three army soldiers were injured on Wednesday in a mine blast in Poonch district, sources said.

Reliable sources told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that three army soldiers sustained injuries in a land mine blast at Phagwari Gali in the Poonch sector.

Sources said that all the injured soilderis were immediately taken to a nearby MI hospital, where two were shifted to 150 GH Rajouri for advanced treatment. Sources identified all the injured as Y Shri Ramullu, Vimal Raj, and Veer Bharappa.

Sources further added that the condition of all injured is said to be stable. Meanwhile, police took cognizance of this incident. (KS)

SRINAGAR: An army man was left severely injured in a landmine blast along Line of Control in Rajouri district, officials said on Wednesday. 

They told GNS that one Naik Dheeraj Kumar Magrati, was injured after he accidentally stepped on a landmine, while on a patrolling duty in the forward area of LoC in the Nowshera sector. 

The injured army man was airlifted to Northern Command hospital Udhampur for immediate treatment, they further said. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: An Army porter along with his horse was injured in landmine blast along LoC in Poonch on Saturday.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that an Army porter identified as Mukhtiar Ahmad S/O Mohd Saleem Mir R/O Gagrian Sawjian along with his horse was injured in a landmine blast along the Line of Control (LoC) at Mauli Dhokh Sawjian, Poonch.

The injured porter was shifted to SDH Mandi for medical treatment,they said . Meanwhile further investigation has been taken up. (KS)

SRINAGAR: A Soldier was injured in a landmine explosion near LoC in Jammu And Kashmir Poonch district on Monday.

A police officer told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a soldier received injuries after the Landmine explosion took place near the LoC in Kerni Sector last Sunday night.

The injured has been admitted to the hospital, he said Meanwhile, investigation have started in this regard. (KS)

SRINAGAR: A 24-year-old girl was killed in a cooking gas cylinder blast in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Monday, officials said.

They told GNS that one Zeenat Tariq daughter of Tariq Ahmad Khan, a resident of Shatpora Haihama suffered critical injuries at her home. “She was immediately shifted to SDH Kupwara for treatment from where she was referred to SMHS hospital where she succumbed shortly after”, they said.  

Confirming it, a police official told GNS that they have taken cognizance of the incident. (GNS)

Srinagar: A five-year-old boy was injured during a blast in Kerosene tanky in Chakiwala Tulail Area of North Kashmir Bandipora district on Saturday.

A police officer told news agency, Kashmir Scroll a five year boy was injured during a blast in kerosene tanky in Chakiwala Tulail Guraiz in Bandipora district. He identified him as Zeeshan Ahmad (05) son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat resident of Chaiwala. He has been shifted to hospital where his condition is said to be critical, he said. Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident. (KS)

SRINAGAR A girl hailing from Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama who had suffered burn injuries around a week before due to gas leakage succumbed at SMHS hospital.

An official told news agency, Kashmir Scroll that a girl identified as Anisa Javaid, 18, daughter of Javaid Ahmad Najar resident of Hariparigam village of tral had suffered critical burn injuries on 21 May at her residence in a gas leakage blast.

He said she was shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment, where from she was shifted to SMHS hospital for advanced treatment where she succumbed on Saturday morning. Meanwhile police have taken cognizance of the incident. (KS)

SRINAGAR: 25-year-old shepherd was injured in a mine blast along Line of Control in Poonch district on Thursday, officials said.  

They said the incident took place at around 1600 hours when the youth Mohammad Javed son of Mohammad Sharif Gujjar of Mohala Saki Wala Qasba was grazing his goats in forest area ahead of fence along LoC near his native village. Immediately after sustaining injuries in the mine blast, Javed was rushed to treatment, they said.

A police official confirmed to GNS the injuries to the youth. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: pAt least four persons sustained critical injuries in a gas cylinder blast after a fire erupted in a residential house in Qazi Mora in Poonch district this morning, officials said.

The officials told GNS that information was received this morning about the breaking out of fire in a house belonging to one Qamar Din at Qazi Mora.

“Soon after the receipt of this information police party rushed on the spot during the course of enquiry preliminary it has been found that it was due to leakage of cylinder”, the officials said adding in the course of ongoing blaze a gas cylinder exploded causing grievous injuries to four persons.

Identifying the injured persons as, Hasham Mair son of Niaz Mair resident of Bihar, Suraj Patil son of Ram Patil resident of Bihar, Mohd Shaid son of Mohd Sadiq resident of Qazi Mora and Javid son of Mohd Ahmed from UP, the officials further said that all the injured persons have been shifted to District Hospital Poonch for treatment.
