A Top police officer told GNS that one tourist cab driver was shot by militants in Borihallan area in the district, causing him injuries in his left arm. 

"The driver was immediately lifted from the site to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment, said the officer, adding the area has been cordoned off to nab the assailants.

An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that driver identified as Manzoor Ahmad son of Gh Mustafa resident of Belli area of Doda received critical injuries after his tipper skidded off the road.

He said that Manzoor was shifted to GMC Doda in critical condition, however, he was declared brought dead on arrival.

Meanwhile police have taken cognizance and started investigation.(KS)

Police Station Baramulla received written complaint from one minor girl stating therein that she was abducted by Mohammad Umar Parray, a venture driver and raped her at secluded place in Sangri locality.

While a few, working as operators, managed their way out, a few were swept away. Immediately a massive rescue operation was launched under supervision of Tehsidar Larnoo along with SHO Larnoo.

They said that a number of JCBs were engaged to clear snow in the area and suddenly an avalanche occurred, sweeping them away. While a few, working as operators, managed their way out, a few were swept away. Immediately a massive rescue operation was launched under supervision of Tehsidar Larnoo along with SHO Larnoo.

So far the body of one JCB operator has been recovered while searches are underway for possible missing person(s), they said.  

An officer of the administration told GNS that initial reports suggest that two persons among those engaged for snow clearance were missing but exact details are still being verified. “Rescue operation is still underway and we are trying to locate any missing person.”  

Meanwhile, the officer identified the deceased JCB operator as Javid Ahmad Zagoo (35) son of Abdul Aziz Zagoo of Larnoo. (GNS)
