SRINAGAR: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted raids on Friday at seven locations across various districts of the Jammu province as part of its investigation into a Pakistan-backed terror conspiracy case, media reports said.

SIA teams simultaneously conducted searches at three locations in Doda district, two in Reasi district, and one each in Ramban and Jammu districts in the morning, according to a spokesperson of the anti-terror agency.

The raids targeted the residential premises of Hasan Babar Nehru and Mohd Irfan in Bhagwah, Sabder Ali in Phagsoo (Doda), Abdul Rashid in Arnas, and Shamshad Begum in Pouni (Reasi), Abdul Rashid Naik in Khari (Ramban), and Sajad Ahmed alias “Shadu” in the Sidhra area of Jammu. During the searches, several android mobile phones and incriminating materials were seized.

The official stated that the raids were conducted in connection with an ongoing investigation into a case registered at the SIA, Jammu, aimed at unraveling a criminal conspiracy orchestrated by the cadre and Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of various militant organisations and their affiliates to carry out militant and subversive activities.

SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency on Tuesday carried out raids at several locations in the Kashmir Valley officials said.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that the raids were conducted in the Baramulla, and Shopian districts of the Kashmir valley.

During the raids, the NIA sleuths were accompanied by the Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF personnel.

They said that searches were going on and further details will be shared later.(KS)

SRINAGAR:: The Income Tax Department carried out a raid at the residence and shop of a famous businessman in north Kashmir's Sopore town on Monday morning.

Reliable sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that sleuths of the Income Tax Department, along with police, raided the residential house of Javid Ahmad Aanam of Sopore. Javid is the owner of the ARCO business group.

The searches related to income tax were going on when the last reports came in. An official told a news agency that the raids have been conducted since morning, details of which will be shared after the conclusion of all searches. (KS)

SIA spokesman said that on the basis of intelligence inputs, Jammu SIA conducted simultaneous searches in four different locations in the residential premises of Over Ground Workers and helpers of terrorists groups in tehsil Basantgarh in district Udhampur and Jammu district.

The spokesman added that inputs further reveled that the border guide and OGWs are using different mabile apps for calling and passing vital information to Pakistan based terrorists and handlers as well as terrorists groups.

"The Pakistan based handlers and terrorists groups are desperate to revive the terrorist activities in the hinterland of Jammu and Kashmir," the spokesman said adding that on this reports SIA team obtained search warrant from the court and conducted searches in the residential premises of suspected persons.

The raids were conducted in the houses of Nazir Ahmed, Mohd Rafiq and Altaf Hussan, all residents of Basantgarh, District Udhampur and Mohd Iqbal, resident of Peer Bagh Colony, Sunjawan, Jammu.

The spokesman said that during searches, electric gadgets, relevant documents etc were recovered, adding, "the searches were conducted in presence of executive magistrate and with the active participation of district police Udhampur and Jammu." (UNI)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir's Police's Special Investigation Unit on Saturday conducted raid in Awantipora sub district in a terror related case, police said.

The SIU Awantipora conducted raid in Wopalwan village in connection with case registered by Government Railway Police Awantipora this year. The case was later taken by SIU for investigation.

Police said the raid was conducted by the SIU in the residential house of accused Sheikh Sayurl Nisar resident of Wopalwan Awantipora and proper standard operation procedures (SOPs) were followed.

"During the search, relevant information was gathered besides, Bank pass books, Islamic books of Jahad & other incriminating materials were recovered by the SIU Awantipora," police said.

The searches were conducted to collect more evidences of his involvement in other terror crimes,they added.

The raid was conducted as part of continuing crackdown on terror elements in Kashmir. (UNI)

SRINAGAR: On the directions of Deputy Drug Controller Kashmir Division, Nighat Jabeen, Drug control authority Anantnag and Kulgam jointly conducted raids and inspections of medical sale estabilishments in the hotspot areas of twin districts in southern Kashmir.

According to a press release, 35 inspections of medical sale estabilishments at Baba Mohalla, Pazalpora of tehsil Bijbehara, SK Colony of tehsil Anantnag, Kund area of DHpora and Quazigund were conducted by the constituted teams of Drug control officers.

Operation of 06 medical shops were disallowed onspot for violation of different provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, it said.

The statement said that team's also seized consignment of pharmaceutical preparations with addiction liability from the mesical shop of Fayaz Ahmad of Baba Mohalla Bijbehara  who fail to produce the purchase and sale records of the seized material onspot.

Further, On the directions of additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag team also raided the medical shop and house of Javid Ahmad Bhat at S.k Colony Anantnag for having inputs of stocking medicines prone to addiction at his residential house. Operation of his medical shop also stands closed for different violations of the Act, the statement said.

"Chremists in the twin Districts were impressed to maintain the records of all the schedule H1 medicines properly as per the prescribed norms and were asked to keep proper vigil on every suspicious person.They were asked to share responsibility of one and all to contribute in eradication of drug menace."

Deputy Drug Controller, Kashmir emphases upon all chemists particularly of the farflung areas who still fail to install cctv cameras to adhere to the directive within weeks time, they said adding that failure may invite strict administrative action under the purview of provisions of the Act. (KDC)

SRINAGAR: National Investigation Agency is presently carrying out raids at different locations across Jammu and Kashmir at 12 locations on Tuesday morning.

A top officer told GNS that the searches are underway in Awantipora, Pulwama, Anantnag and Srinagar in the Valley. while raids are also underway in Jammu and Poonch districts.

The searches are carried against OGWs of different militant outfits in connection with the militancy case, the officer added.

When this report was filed, the searches were underway. It was not immediately revealed whether any arrested has been culminated so far. (GNS)
