<p>“The DGP reiterated the commitment of the Jammu &amp; Kashmir Police to maintaining peace and security in the region, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures in countering potential threats,” the spokesperson said.</p>
<p>He also took the opportunity to interact with the staff of Indian Railways, underscoring the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and railway personnel in safeguarding critical infrastructure and ensuring the security of passengers and cargo.</p>

                <title>First Trial-run on World's Highest Railway Bridge at Bakkal-Kauri</title>
                                    <description><![CDATA[SRINAGAR: The Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw conducted the first trial run on a track-mounted vehicle on the world's highest railway bridge at Bakkal-Kauri over the river Chenab, in Pir Panjal mountain range of Reasi district of Jammu.

The trial run marks a significant milestone in the completion of the Udhampur-Katra-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link, which will for the first time in history connect the Kashmir valley to New Delhi and the rest of India by train in January 2024. The Chenab Bridge, which is a part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link project, is being anticipated as one of the most magnificent train journeys in the future. After the successful trial run of the track-mounted vehicle, the bridge will soon be operational.

The Minister of Railways was accompanied by Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway, and other senior officials of U.S.B.R.L. Project &amp; Northern Railway during his official inspection visit to the world's highest Chenab Bridge.

While talking to the media on the sideline of the trolley run on Chenab bridge the Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, Ashwini Vaishnaw as per GNS said, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put a laser-sharp focus on the development of the country, the Chenab bridge, all these tunnels, and this will become a lifeline for Jammu and Kashmir. “He further added that the project will connect the Srinagar district with the rest of the country, and it is a very important strategic development.”

“We are creating a special training academy in Jammu. Wherever our engineers and technicians require training, they can come to this project and have the training, and other parts of the country can also benefit from this project,” said Vaishnaw.

“The completion of the Udhampur-Katra-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project will not only boost tourism in the region but will also provide a reliable and safe mode of transportation for people traveling to and from the Kashmir valley. It will also open up new opportunities for economic development in the region.”

“The project has been a top priority for the government and with the successful trial run of the Chenab Bridge, the completion of the project is now closer than ever before,” he added. (GNS)]]></description>

                <title>Kashmir to get specially designed 'Vande Bharat Express': Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav</title>
                                    <description><![CDATA[SRINAGAR: Union Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav on a state visit arrived in Srinagar on Saturday. 

The Minister visited Budgam Railway Station and inquired about various procedures related to maintenance of trains at Carriage &amp; Wagon Depot, Budgam. He had a detailed discussion with the officers on all matters related to maintenance of trains and gave necessary guidelines.

Vaishnav then undertook a journey from Budgam Railway Station to Baramulla Railway Station by special inspection car. He made a detailed overview of the safety and security of the railway section and took stock of the passenger amenities at Baramulla Railway Station.

The Minister discussed with the concerned railway officers the development works to be done at Baramulla Railway Station. He also interacted with Railway employees and inspected the dry fruit stall of “One Station One Product”. He appreciated the local dry fruits of Baramulla and purchased them using digital mode of payment.

After this, Vaishnaw reached Srinagar Railway Station in a special inspection car. The Parcel Office was inaugurated at Srinagar Railway Station in presence of the minister. The Minister also inspected the stall of "One Station One Product" at Srinagar Railway Station.

The Minister addressed a large number of journalists present at Srinagar Railway Station. He said that the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Line (USBRL) project will be completed by Jan/Feb 2024. The budget allocation for USBRL was about Rs 800 crore per year before 2014, which has been increased to Rs 6,000 crore in the year 2022-23, he added. After connecting with the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla train service, a specially built Vande Bharat train will be introduced in this rail section, Vaishnaw further said.                                     <description><![CDATA[SRINAGAR:  Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw visited Kashmir Valley on Saturday. Before interacting with the officials, the Minister visited the Baramulla, the last railway link of Indian Railways.
  
After meeting the senior Railway officers, the Minister while talking to reporters said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed the rail network across India, and in Kashmir also railways will be equipped with modern facilities.
  
Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust said that there is a lot of room for improvement. He said during the meeting, it was decided to create facilities for apple, cement, and gypsum exporters. “There will be a double line, a parcel service, new telephone connections,” he said adding that there will be heating system in trains during the winters.
  
He said after Jammu-Srinagar rail ling will be throw, ‘Wande Bharat’ Express will also chug in Kashmir Valley.
  
The Minister was accompanied by DC Baramulla Syed Sehrish Asghar.
  During his two days visit, the Minister will leave for Reasi on Sunday and inspect the site of the highest Railway bridge and ongoing works on the Reasi-Banihal section of the Udhampur-Baramulla rail project.
