SRINAGAR: The body of a 34-year-old man was found in the Soura area of Srinagar on late Thursday evening, officials said.

An official told the news agency Kashmir News Observer that the body of Tariq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Anchar Srinagar, was found near Soura area late yesterday evening.

He added that the body was sent for post-mortem.

Moreover, the body will be handed over to the family after legal proceedings, and police have initiated an investigation in this regard.

SRINAGAR: Man who was critically wounded yesterday in militant attack at Shalkadal area of Srinagar succumbed to his injuries this morning at the hospital

A top police officer confirmed to GNS that the person who was critically wounded in a militant attack yesterday has succumbed to his injuries this morning at the hospital.

It's pertinent to mention that yesterday, militants shot at two people in Shalkaldal in which one was dead on the spot, while another was immediately shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment.

They have been identified as Amritpal and Rohit Mashi of Punjab.(GNS)

SRINAGAR : An unidentified male body was found under mysterious circumstances in Rajouri on Saturday, an official said. 

The official told GNS that a body of a male person, believed to in his thirties, was spotted by some passersby at Deri Ralyote, some 150-feet away from Rajouri-Poonch highway. 

“Soon after a police team reached the site and lifted the body for identification and other medico-legal formalities”, the official said.
 
Confirming the recovery of the body, SHO Manjakote Ibrar Ahmad told GNS that they have sought help from the public to identify the body. “Once the identity is ascertained, the body will be handed over the family for last rites”, the officer said. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: An 18-year-old youth was found dead under mysterious conditions in central Kashmir's Budgam district on Monday morning.

Reports reaching News Agency Kashmir Scroll said that an 18-year-old youth (name withheld), a resident of Sail Beerwah, was lying outside his house with injuries mark on his head and ear.

Sources told News Agency Kashmir Scroll suspected that the injured has been allegedly murdered.

Meanwhile, police took cognizance of this incident. (KS)

SRINAGAR: Thirty three people were killed dead and at least 22 others injured when a bus they were traveling in skidded off the road and fell into gorge in Assar Doda. 

Official sources told GNS that so far 33 fatalities have been confirmed and 22 others are injured in the accident involving bus bearing number Jk02CN-6555. 

Soon after the accident, locals and authorities started massive rescue operations.

SRINAGAR: Body of a non-local with bullet shot wounds has been found in Nowpora area in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, officials said on Monday afternoon.

They told GNS that the body was sighted by some passersby lying at Tumchi Nowpora.

Following the sighting of the body, a police team reached the site and took the body into its possession. 

Confirming the recovery of the body to GNS, a police official identified the deceased as Mukesh Kumar from Uttar Pradesh. "We are ascertaining the cause of death of the person", the official said.

SRINAGAR: A 45-year-old woman was found dead in central Kashmir's Srinagar district on Tuesday morning.

An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that a dead body of a woman, identified as Tanveera @Chandni (45), of Nundrash colony B Bemina As reported by News Agency Kashmir Scroll, the body of the woman was discovered at the Durbal round in Bemina on Tuesday morning by some locals, who accordingly informed police.(KS)

SRINAGAR: One person has been injured while another reported missing after a vehicle they were travelling in rolled down on Doda highway in Jammu region on Monday evening.

An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that an Alto car with the registration number JK06B 1008 was traveling from Doda towards Indloo Gandoh when it reached near Sharan and rolled down from the road. As a result, one person named Dupinder Singh, aged 25 years of Kandoolo, got injured and was shifted to the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Gandoh for treatment.

The officer said that another individual, Shubam Kumar, aged 21 years and son of Varinder Singh of Kandoolo went missing. He said a search operation is underway to locate Shubam Kumar. (KS)

SRINAGAR: A 19-year-old boy died after falling from a haystack in Lolab area in north Kashmir's Kupwara district this afternoon. 

Reports reaching GNS said that one Showkat Ahmad, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Najar, fell to ground while piling a haystack in his native village Kawari in Khurhama Lolab.

The teenager was soon after evacuated from the site to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to SDH Kupwara, where he succumbed shortly after.

When contacted, a police official also confirmed to GNS about the teenager boy's in the incident. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: A semi-decomposed body of a male person was on Saturday found from a rivulet in Poonch district, officials said.

They told GNS that the body was sighted lying in nallah Betaar near Dalaan bridge, by some passersby. 

The police were informed which reached the site and took the body into its possession, they said. 

The Police have in the meantime asked the public to reach out with any relevant information to help in ascertaining the identity of the person. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: In shocking news, a minor girl who was missing in Rajouri district was found dead today morning, officials said.

An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a 3-year-old minor girl went missing yesterday; however, after hectic efforts by police, SDRF and locals recovered her body from a nallah.

A police officer told news agency Kashmir Scroll that the body has been taken to the hospital.

He said that after completing the medical and legal formalities, the body will be handed over to the family for last rights. (KS)
