SRINAGAR: Another unidentified militant  has been killed taking toll to two after security forces foiled a Infiltration bid in Sahura Nala area of Uri in North Kashmir's Baramulla district.

A top official told GNS that two militants has been killed, one body recovered so far in the firefight.

He further said that Searches in the area are underway.

Earlier, during wee hours, movement of militants were detected. Infiltraters were challenged by the security forces, leading to a firefight.

During firefight one militant was killed, whose identity was not yet ascertained, he said.(GNS)

SRINAGAR: Army on Saturday said that an infiltration bid was foiled along the International Border in Akhnoor area of Jammu and that militants were seen “dragging one body back.” 

“Infiltration bid foiled in IB sector of #Khour, #Akhnoor. Suspected move of four terrorists seen through own surveillance devices on the night of December 22/23,” army’s White Knight Corps said in a tweet. “Effective fire brought down. Terrorists seen dragging one body back across the IB.”(GNS)

SRINAGAR: Police on Saturday claimed to have killed two unidentified militants as Infiltration bid had been foiled. 

On X Kupwara Police wrote, "Based on an intelligence input provided by Kupwara Police,in a joint operation carried by Army and Police in kumkadiarea of Machal sector,2 infiltrating militants have been killed so far.The operation is still in progress.

In another update, Kupwara Police wrote, " 
So far, 02 Aks, 4AKMags, 90rds, 01 Pak Pistol, 01 Pouch and Rs. 2100 Pak currency etc has been recovered from encounter site. Search continues.(GNS)

SRINAGAR: An unknown militant was killed early morning on Monday during the infiltration bid on LoC at village Degwar Terwan area of Poonch district.

Official sources told GNS that today early morning at around 2 am army repulsed an infiltration attempt by a group of two militants on LoC.

During the firefight, one militant was killed, whose body is still lying near LoC. Meanwhile the search for other one was underway when the last report came in, they said.

Meanwhile PRO Defence in a statement to GNS said that a contact was established by ambush party in Poonch around early morning 02:00 AM.

Two individuals were observed moving across LoC in General area Degwar Terva, Poonch. In the fire fight one militant seen dropping, second seen moving towards Pintu Nala.

SRINAGAR: The Army on Tuesday claimed to have foiled a major infiltration bide along the Line of Control in Naushera sector by killing a terrorist and recovering huge cache of arms and ammunition.     

In a statement, issued to the news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a Jammu based defence spokesperson said that alert troops of Indian Army on night of 10 July, foiled a major infiltration bid along the Line of Control in the Naushera Sector over two nights in a deliberate and massive operation. 

The statement reads that on 10 July at midnight alert ambushes of Indian Army deployed along the Line of Control, in the Naushera observed suspicious movement of a group of terrorists moving suspiciously from across the Line of Control towards own side.  

"Own alert troops kept the movement of the infiltrators under constant observation, and when they were nearly 300 meters inside own side of Line of Control they were challenged and a firefight ensued. Heavy and accurate fire was brought down on the terrorists, one terrorist was seen falling to the side, while two others who were injured, were seen taking cover into the jungle," it reads. 

It added that the area of operation being broken ground, having thick jungle and foliage, with inclement weather, the terrorists hid themselves in the jungle. "Additional troops were moved in, and the area was cordoned."

It further reads that in a deliberate and massive search operation lasting over two days and two nights, in an area which is heavily mined, in inclement weather conditions, body of one terrorist who was neutralized, has been recovered with weapon and war like stores. 

"During further search operations into the jungle blood trail, with drag marks on ground were observed leading towards the line of control. Possibly, other injured, terrorists taking advantage of the forest foliage managed to move back across the Line of Control."

The statement reads that major war like stores recovered, include one AK 47 Rifle, three AK Magazines with 175 Rounds, one 9 mm Pistol, two Magazines with 15 Rounds, Four Hand Grenades, communication equipment, large quantity of eatables and clothing for sustenance.

"By their quick action, alert Indian Army troops deployed in the Naushera Sector have eliminated a major infiltration bid, which was aimed to disturb the peace in Rajouri . The India Army continues to remain alert on the Line of Control and is fully prepared to thwart such attempts in the future too," it added. (KNO)

SRINAGAR: A major infiltration bid was foiled along Line of Control in Poonch, army said on Thursday.

A defence spokesperson said that the army's Sarla Battalion averted a major infiltration attempt from across LoC in Poonch on intervening Wednesday and Thursday night. “Some two to three militants laced with heavy weaponry tried to sneak into this side, however upon receiving a strong response all of them were forced to retract”, the spokesperson said.

“The fleeing intruders left a huge cache of arms and ammunition besides eatables, clothes and medicine which was recovered from the site by the army”, the spokesperson further said. (GNS)

Army said that it foiled a major infiltration bid along the Line of Control in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir during pre-dawn hours of Wednesday.
  
Army said that infiltrators fired upon the joint forces that was retaliated. A couple of infiltrators sustained bullet injuries and managed to escape to the other part of Kashmir across the border.
  
“Three infiltrators who were present in the Indian part of Kashmir were arrested. One among them has sustained bullet injury and has been shifted to hospital.”
  
Army said that there was an input that a group of infiltrators will try to sneak into this part of Kashmir. The infiltration bid was foiled by the Army and Police who were on the qui vive.
 
A large quantity of arms and ammunition have been recovered from the arrested infiltrators which include 60 grenades, 2 pistols, a couple of AK 56 rifles and 70 rounds.
  
Army said that 20 packets of Heroin have also been recovered from the spot of the encounter. (KNT)

SRINAGAR: An infiltrator was injured while as two more were apprehended alive in Khari Sector of Poonch on Wednesday.

An official told news agency, Kashmir Scroll that an infiltration bid foiled near Chetan Post in Khari sector of Poonch District. One Infiltrator was injured while two apprehended were alive, he said, adding that Arms and ammunition drugs packet were recovered from their possession. Search operation is going on in the area, he said. (KS)

SRINAGAR: A JCO received minor injuries as infiltration bid was foiled in Uri area of North Kashmir Baramulla district on Saturday morning officials said that an infiltration bid by militants was foiled in the Uri sector of Baramulla. There was an exchange of fire between militants and own troops,they said that Pakistan side tried to fly a quadcopter over the incident site but on being fired at by the Indian side it quickly withdrew. In the incident one JCO has received injuries who has been shifted to hospital for treatment, they said. They said that search operation is underway in the area and further investigation has been taken up. (KS)
