SRINAGAR: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) in Srinagar has filed a chargesheet against two accused militants in the case FIR No. 39/2022 in NIA court Srinagar.

“The chargesheet, marked as No. 03/2024, pertains to case FIR No. 39/2022 under sections 7/27 A Act, 302 IPC, 13, 16, 18, 20 & 38 UA(P) Act of the Police Station Soura, Srinagar. It has been presented against two individuals identified as Adil Ahmad Parray, son of Habibullah Parray, a resident of Badragund Ganderbal (A1), and Basit Ahmad Dar, son of Late Ab. Rashid Dar, a resident of Redwani Payeen Qaimoh Kulgam,” reads the statement.

Of the accused, Adil Ahmad Parray has been reported deceased, while Basit Ahmad Dar remains absconding. “The court has been petitioned to acknowledge Basit Ahmad Dar’s status as an absconder under section 299 CrPC. The next hearing is scheduled for 28-03-2024,” it reads.

SRINAGAR: Special Investigation Unit of J&K Police on Monday produced chargesheet Against an active militant and a militant associate here in NIA court at Srinagarm

In a handout to GNS, the police said that its SIU unit Srinagar produced chargesheet against 02 accused persons including an active absconding local terrorist in case FIR No. 37/2023 in the Hon'ble Court of NIA Srinagar.

The police spokesman further stated that today, the chargesheet bearing No. 02/2024 of case FIR No. 37/2023 under section 4/5 Exp. Sub Act, 13, 18, 20, 23, 38, 39 UA (P) Act of Police Station Kothibagh Srinagar stands presented before the Hon’ble Court of NIA Srinagar against two accused persons namely Mohd Rangrez son of Ab Rashid Rangrez resident of Firdousabad Batamaloo (terrorist associate) who is presently on judicial custody remand at Central Jail Srinagar and another Momin Gulzar Mir son of Gulzar Ahmad Mir resident of Firdous Colony Eidgah Srinagar, who is an active absconding ‘A’ category local terrorist regarding whom the Hon’ble Court is prayed to take cognizance under section 299 CrPC accordingly.

SRINAGAR: The State Investigation Agency carried out a raid at the residence of cleric Sarjan Barkati in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said.

An official said that sleuths of SIA with the assistance of local police and CRPF carried out the raid at Sarjan Barkati home in Reban village.

He said that the raid was going on and further details will be shared later. (KNO)

SRINAGAR: State Investigation Unit (SIU) Baramulla produced a chargesheet against three accused persons before a Court of Additional Sessions Judge (NIA Court) here on Tuesday.

“The chargesheet was produced in a case vide FIR number 103/2023 under section 7/25 IA Act 13, 18, 23 and 39 UAPA of Police Station Uri”, reads a statement issued to GNS.

The case, the statement reads, has been produced against three accused persons namely Showkat Ali Awan son of Ab Kareem Awan, Ahmad Din Khatana son of Shakir Din Khatana and Mohd Sideeq Khatana son of Umer Din Khatana, all residents of Churunda Uri Baramulla.

The next date of hearing of the case is fixed on 16/02/2024. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Police on Saturday said that its Special Investigation Unit produced chargesheet against 02 accused persons in case FIR No. 94/2023 in the Hon'ble Court of NIA Srinagar. 

In a handout to GNS, the police said that the chargesheet of case FIR No. 94/2023 under section 7/25 A Act;  13, 18, 20, 23, 38, 39 & 40 UA(P)Act of Police Station Batamaloo, stands filed in the Court of NIA Srinagar against two accused persons namely Arfat Yousuf Khan son of Mohd Yousuf Khan resident of Pethgam Rajpora (A1) & one of his co- associate of killed local militant Yawar Shafi Bhat son of Mohd Shafi Bhat resident of Kalampora Pulwama on 19-01-2024.

The spokesman further stated that the case is related to the recovery of Arms/Ammunition affected by Police Batamaloo Srinagar from the accused & during the course of investigation a link stands established between the duo on the basis of CDR/IPDR which finally resulted in its culmination.

One of the accused was killed during an encounter with SF/Police at Shah Mohalla Yadipora Palhallan falling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Pattan Baramulla on 30/09/2022 regarding which case FIR No 280/2022 has been registered in Police Station Pattan, he said.
