SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla attached a double-storeyed residential house of a hardcore narco-smuggler in Uri Baramulla. 

“Continuing its action against drug peddlers, Police in Baramulla attached properties (double-storeyed residential house worth approx. Rs. 30.00 lacs) belonging to  notorious drug peddler namely Azad Ahmad Mir son of Ab Aziz Mir resident of Dardkote Uri, District Baramulla,” reads a statement issued to GNS. 

“The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & is linked with case FIR No.222/2021 u/s 8/21, 29 NDPS Act of PS Uri.”

“The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the drug peddler,” reads the statement.

“This operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Police,” reads the statement further. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police attached property of a notorious drug peddler in south Kashmir's Kulgam district.  

"Continuing its action against drug peddlers, Kulgam Police attached property (02 storied residential house) belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Khursheed Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd Ismail Bhat resident of Sopat Devsar under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985", said a police spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS. 

"The said notorious drug peddler is involved in several NDPS cases including Case FIR No.63/2019 U/S 8/15, 20 NDPS Act, Case FIR No. 11/2021 U/S 8/20, 29 NDPS Act and 31/2021 U/S 8/20, 22 of NDPS Act of police station Devsar", reads the statement.

The property, the statement reads, was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police. 

"The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the drug peddler. The notorious drug peddler is currently under detention at Kote-Bhalwal Jammu under the PIT-NDPS Act."

"This operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable properties which have been raised/used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddler in the district Kulgam", reads the statement further. SRINAGAR: Police on Monday said that it attached the residential house of a militant associate in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that today, it attached the residential house of a terrorist associate namely Mohammad Ramzan Mir S/O Ab. Salam Mir R/O Rudbugh Magam who is an OGW of the proscribed militant outfit LeT.  Pertinently during investigation of FIR No. 05/2023 U/S, 307-IPC 7/27 Arms Act 16, 19, 20, 23, 39 UA (P) Act of P/S Magam  Unlawful Activities Prevention Act it had come to fore that the property under survey No.68 min belonging  to Mohammad Ramzan Mir resident of Radbugh Magam had been acquired as proceeds of terrorism in terms of 2(g) of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, which was  also willfully used for  harbouring of militants, he said.

The police spokesman further stated that district Police Budgam has reiterated its resolve to continue its endeavour for identification and initiation of legal actions against all such properties that are being wilfully used for harbouring militants, reads the statement

SRINAGAR: National Investigation Agency on Saturday morning attached the residential house of an accused in connection with case of weapon recovery in Chanapora area of Srinagar district.

Sources told GNS that a NIA team along with police and CRPF this morning attached the property of an accused namely Mushtaq Ahmad son of Abdul Ganaie, Khan Colony, Chanapora, they said.

The house has been attached in connection with case RC 4/22 regarding recovery of weapon, they added.

Its pertinent to mention that Srinagar Police in May 2023 in Chanapora arrested two local hybrid militants of proscribed militant outfit LeT/TRF. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 15 pistols, 30 magazines, 300 rounds & 1 silencer were recovered. The case was handed over to NIA for further investigation(GNS)

SRINAGAR: Police on Tuesday said that it have attached properties of five proclaimed offenders in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal, who have exfilitrated to Pakistan.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that today in pursuance to the order of Court of Additional Mobile Magistrate Ganderbal u/s 82 Cr.PC followed by Government order No. 12/DM/GBL, Ganderbal Police attached immovable properties of five proclaimed offenders who have exfilitrated to Pak/PoK for attaining  training of illegal arms and were involved in case FIR No. 120/2009 u/s 2/3 E&IMCO of P/S Ganderbal in the manner specified in Section 83 of Cr.PC. 

The police spokesman further said that pertinent to mention that the offenders are at large across the border in POK /PAK.   

The details of properties attached are mentioned as Land measuring 01 Kanals 19 Marlas  under Khasra No. 41, 42, 47, 49 in Estate Choutwaliwar belonging to Proclaimed offender. Mohd Yousuf Alias Yousuf Naseem S/o Mohd Yaqboob 
Syed Shah R/o Chountwaliwar, land measuring 01 Kanals 17 marlas under khasra No. 883/637/288 in Countwaliwar and 10 Marlas under Khasra No. 429 in Watlar belonging to proclaimed offender namely Bashir Ah. S/o Ab Karim Wani R/o Choutwaliwar/Watlar, Land measuring 11 marlas under khasra No 130, 128, 129, 314 in estate Chountwaliwar belonging to proclaimed offender namely Mohd Rafiq S/o Lal Din Chichi R/o Chountwaliwar, Land measuring 02 Kanals 15 marlas under Khasra No. 710/3, 706/2, 707/2 in estate Chountwaliwar belonging to Proclaimed offender namely Mohd Sakhi S/o Mohd Younis Shah Qureshi R/o Chountwaliwar and land Measuring 121/4 marlas under Khewat No. 201 in estate Qasba Lar belonging to Proclaimed offender namely Hilal Ahmad S/o Habibullah Wani R/o Qasba Lar, he said.

In total 27.13 Kanals of land belonging to 09 proclaimed offenders and one residentail house has been attached so far in case FIR No. 120/2009 of PS Ganderbal by Ganderbal Police, reads the statement.(GNS)

Police spokesman here in an official communique on Saturday said that the police have attached one storey residential house belonging to Shakar Din of Village Degwar Terwan Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch valuing Rs 45,86,015 and one JCB Excavator valuing Rs 33 lakhs and one tractor valuing Rs nine lakhs belonging to Mohd Yaseen of Degwar Terwan, Tehsil Haveli District Poonch under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.

The spokesman said that the residential house and vehicles were identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation and enquiry conducted by Poonch Police.

The property was prima facie accrued from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic Substances by the owners.

Notably, last month one double storied residential House valuing in lakhs, motor vehicles jointly belonging to notorious drug peddlers namely Mehmood Hussain, Zaffar Iqbal and Javid Iqbal, residents of Deri Dabsi, Kotian, Mendhar have also been attached under NDPS Act.

"This operation reaffirms the commitment of J&K Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Poonch Police with regard to the attachment of Moveable and Immoveable Property, which have been raised from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the District Poonch," the spokesman added. SRINAGAR: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday attached properties of two key Lashkar-e-Toiba operatives for their involvement in 2015 terror attack on a Border Security Forces convoy in Udhampur.

As learnt by GNS, sleuths of the investigation agency attached the properties of two accused who are currently undergoing trial in the NIA Special Court, Jammu.

The attachment was made on the directions of a competent Court. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said it attached 14 marla residential land belonging to a terror associate's family in north Kashmir's Bandipora district 

"Bandipora Police has attached 14 Marla of residential land at Ashtengoo Bandipora in case FIR No.43/2022", said a police spokesperson. 

"The land had been identified as proceeds of terrorism and was attached under the UAPA."

"The land belongs to the family of a terror associate of LeT , Irfan Ahmad Bhat. His brother had also exfiltrated to Pakistan in 2000", the spokesperson said further. (GNS)

SRINAGAR: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Jammu & Kashmir Police on Thursday attached property of a Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) Over Ground Worker (OGW) under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in Pulwama district, officials said.

The SIU attached an orchard property measuring seven kanals and seven marlas under Khasra Number 207 at village Chitrat, Arigam Pulwama, belonging to one Ghulam Nabi Wani, father of accused Ishfaq Ahmad Wani, resident of Chitrat Arigam Pulwama.

"The property has been attached under section 25 of UA(P)A through an order dated 13.11.2023, by the competent authority", a statement of the agency said. (UNI)

SRINAGAR: Police on Monday attached a house of an alleged drug peddler in Jammu and Kashmir Awantipora sub district.

Police said a double -storied, residential house valuing approximately Rs 12 lakhs belonging to a drug peddler Bakhtawar Ahmad Makroo of Gulzarpora Awantipora, who is in jail, was attached under section 68-Fof NDPS Act 1985.

“The residential house was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police Awantipora. The property was prima facie accrued from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic Substances by the owner,” police said.

Police said the drug peddler is involved in two FIRs registered in police station Awantipora.

The notorious drug peddler is currently detained under PIT-NDPS Act and is lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu, they said.

Police said this operation reaffirms the commitment of Awantipora Police to combat the drug menace. (UNI)

SRINAGAR: Police on Wednesday said that a residential house has been attached for proving shelter and harbouring militants in South Kashmir Kulgam district.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that it have attached the residential house of one person namely Sanaullah Mir S/O Mohd Abdullah Mir R/O Turigam after "obtaining legal sanction from the competent authorities (Divisional Commissioner Kashmir)" vide order No. DIVCOM-K/RTN/37/2023, Dated 31.10.2023.

The said house was linked in case FIR No.10/2023 U/S 302, 307 RPC, 7/27 A act, 13,16,18,19 ,20, 38, 39 UAPA in which three hard-core militants were neutralised.

DySP Aman Kumar Thakur and one army man Soumveer attained martyrdom while fighting with militants at Turigam.

The police spokesman further stated that the investigation proved beyond doubt that the said house was used for the purpose of Terrorism, sheltering, harbouring militants.
Process has started for attachment properties which have been used for the purpose of militancy as per section 2(g) & 25 of the ULP Act.

Kulgam police requests citizens once again not to harbour or give shelter to terrorists,failing which they will be liable to action under law including property attachment (movable/immovable) proceedings.

Incase of any forced/coercive entry by terrorist into any house or vehicle, The matter should be brought to the notice of police immediately ,otherwise proceedings under law will follow against such houses or other properties, reads the statement.(GNS)
